well i for one am seriously wondering why Pres Obama is signing legislation that is going to up the cost of literally everything but he does not appear to be too concerned with his own carbon footprint in the slightest.  everyone knows that actions speak much louder than words and you would think that a Harvard graduate could at least put his own words into action for himself rather than translate his words into action for the rest of us!!

well that is true... but i find it interesting that most of this healthcare legislation will not go into effect until 2013 ! WHY ?? if its such a great thing and will be SO much better than what we have now why  wait until 2013 ?? if he is not re elected than all this time and money spent chasing the boogey man is really just time wasted when we could have fixed some real problems like the corruption of our congress by lobbyists and their own lack of self control  and the elusive solution to the problems of terrorism in the middle east. but maybe Pres Obama has other agenda items.  HMM wonder what they might be?

For those of you who oppose government paid health care based on the flawed assumption it will cause your taxes to rise.

Do any of you have a health savings account? If so you Do realize that the money you put in there removes tax dollars from the system... right?? And causes others to pay more taxes..... SOOOO.. by removing that portion of your income from the taxable income stream..... you cause OTHER people to pay more taxes..... Come on people.. you cannot have it both ways,, either you WANT government subsidized health care or you do not.

And please note.. only people earning money pay taxes.....corporations, do not ,in reality pay taxes.....try to get your mind around THAT concept.

Please explain how Obama has created this huge deficit in 9 months. The bailout started by GWB and gang? But credited with keeping this country and the world from a prolonged recession/depression? All Obama and company did was extend what was already designed.

Oh wait, if the roles were reversed the GOP (the Party of No) would have refused to extend it and would have wasted the original money and cratered the world economy and ours with it. Just to prove a point with YOUR money.

And healthcare? Nothing has passed - yet.

And the GOP answer to it? Oh they will have one - soon.

GOP spells l-o-s-e-r. Their actions are working against our citizens every single day they play their games and you supporters of Rush, Fox and Company say nothing about that. They have no answers, will not work with the Dems despite repeated requests for same. They just meet in secret and plot their rise back to power.

Whoah Whoah Whoah...You actually equate the war in Afghanistan with the war on Iraq? You cannot possibly mean that.

I am not sure if you remember the destruction of the  World Trade Center in New York City...I hope you are aware it as carried out by a group called Al-Quaida.. and theye were based in Afghanistan  Supported by the ruling group there called the Taliban.... does any of this sound familiar? Osama Bin ledin?..... Well, anyway to make a long story short... we invaded a country ( Afghanistan ) that posed a clear and present danger to the United States and almost all western countires......We were supported in the endeavor buy practically the entire civilized world...If there was ever a justifacation to invade a country it was the actions of the Taliban an Al-Quaida.

WE should have commited more troops to this effort from the begining as counter insurgency warfare is very people intensive.. Might I suggest a book called "Learning to Eat Soup With a Knife" It is reqired reading at many officer advanced courses.

Iraq was invaded for reasons that to this day are not very clear. Most people now  think it was for the price of oil.. and that is the most logical reason left.. WMDs never turned up...Al-Quaida was a mortal enemy to the Baathist regieme.. so we sqandered assets in Iraq that could have been utilized in the JUSTIFIED campaign in Afghanistan.

It is only a quagmire now that President Obama ( I love typing that.. just for the annoyance factor for the rush fans) is in office.

So far the only things you have used as an example are what you are calling continuations of the last persident.. ( Who in reality is ACTUALLY the worse president in history... OK MAYBE Jimmy Carter.. but it is close).

It amuses me that the war in Afghanistan went from "A rightous campaign against the godless muslim hoards' or a 21st century 'Crusade"  to "quagmire" depending on who is the commander in chief... you right wing types are a fickle bunch.

LOL;  what do you want to know about Carlisle Barracks, and the 'college of war'?   I shop on base there,  at least twice a month, and I can 100% say, that I haven't met an active duty officer yet, who thinks Obama has the stones to win Afghanistan.  I live down the road from it, and you know what,  Obama didn't go there (or West Point or any other military education for that matter).

Trying to win Afghanistan is like invading Russia on foot in the Winter, not going to work.  Those that refuse to learn the lessons of history, are doomed to repeat it's mistakes.

OK you win.. shopping at the commisary and PX on Carlisle fully qulalifies you to second guess the president..Osmotic learning beats sitting in class rooms, reading books and writing papers on the subject to meet a promotion board... DAMN , I wish i knew that back in the day.

As for the comparison of Napolen invading Russia and  Our war in Afghanistan..... Apples and oranges...

A better anaology would be the British in Malaysia from about 1947 to 1960... one of the few successful outcomes in a counterinsurgency war in history.......

well i would say that looking at history is really as T Jefferson would say.".history in general only informs us of what bad gov is."  therefore i have come to the thinking that as mr brown has said very well ...this is a war we will NEVER win unless we get rid of them ...and i mean get rid of them.  because  this is not likely to happen since #1 pres obama has no military experience and is not listening to his own gen McCrystal then i guess our only solution is to............LEAVE....vamanous.... get out!! i don't think it takes a military genius to see that the way things are going over there now is ...NOT GOOD . oh and to answer your question i have no idea why we invaded iraq !! maybe it was the deal of the day maybe kuwait was not on sale that day maybe bush accidentally pointed to the wrong place on the map!!! can't tell ya sorry but why ...maybe with all your knowlege and security clearance you could tell us!!
