I'm so glad that you actually put all that down in writing.  Because I love seeing people eat their words.  I'm still planning on being on these boards in a few years, and I'm putting this down.

Obama running the war in Afghanistan =  FAILURE

I would not worry about it... Up to 0-3 promotion is pretty much automatic.

oh and to answer your question i have no idea why we invaded iraq !! maybe it was the deal of the day maybe kuwait was not on sale that day maybe bush accidentally pointed to the wrong place on the map!!! can't tell ya sorry but why ...maybe with all your knowlege and security clearance you could tell us!!

Never ever ever said I had any type of security clearance...Go re-read the post...

Stating the type of security cleance you have in the open is actually a violation of regulations... And i am RETIRED ... that means no longer in the military expect for an incative reserve commission.

  and for kitty

And you might keep in mind IF and WHEN you become an officer.. it is a violation of Art.88 of the UCMJ...to speak the way you have about the President of the United States... You might want to practice some self control.

Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

(1) That the accused was a commissioned officer of the United States armed forces;

(2) That the accused used certain words against an official or legislature named in the article;

(3) That by an act of the accused these words came to the knowledge of a person other than the accused; and

(4) That the words used were contemptuous, either in themselves or by virtue of the circumstances under which they were used. Note: If the words were against a Governor or legislature, add the following element

(5) That the accused was then present in the State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession of the Governor or legislature concerned.

No kelly i do not work for the government.. I work for a medical school.

As for promotion to 0-3.. i was commisioned directly into the paygrade of 0-3E. So as you see my subsequent promotions were not automatic.

BTW, on the military forum boards...it also applied to people running for office.....that included both Palen and Obama before the election.  Disciplinary action was threatened  to those that make derogatory remarks on those boards.

How did Healthcare become a debate about the military? As for the fact that taxes will go up? Alpha what dreamland are you living in? The taxes we are paying now are still from the Bush administration. We haven't gotten the ones from Obama yet. But wait, they're coming.

The President has said over and over again he believes in redistribution of wealth. Which means he thinks everyone's pay should be equal and no-one rich. Oh, I guess I'm racist because I don't agree with him! So, basically, anyone who works and pays taxes will have their income taxed to the point that anyone who can't or won't work is covered just like the joe schmo who breaks is back for a living.Problem is(and this is where communist countries have failed) after awhile Joe is gonna say"well, why should I kill myself for mediocre pay and support others who dont?" So, Joe will kick back and expect his rightful health insurance. After all everyone deserves healthcare right?

After awhile all the Joes quit, and there is no-one to tax anymore. Then what? Well, then we all look to the Government cause they had this brillant idea to begin with . OOOOO, my racism is showing . More like I have no tolerance for obvious stupidity. Obama wants us all dependent on the Government so he can Rule. He's a narcissit who knows nothing of foreign policy, or economics. He ius heading our country into more financial headaches and opening us up to further terrorist attacks by playng mea culpa to the rougue dictators who will think nothing of destroying us if we continue to appear as weak and gullible as Mr. Obama is making this country out to be. George Bush may have sucked...but this guy blows!

well this is a debate and the winners are going to be the working class i guarantee you that.  we work hard we pay taxes.  i am pretty sure that if President Obama does not figure out how to handle the middle east there will be little left monetarily to fix our healthcare system. without success in iraq and afghanistan President Obama can kiss his seat in the whitehouse goodbye and come 2010 and 2012 all the losers who voted the one thousand nine hundred pages of bull poopie in healthcare reform  will be lookin for new jobs!!! this is the beginning of reform yes but hopefully it is the reform of bad gov and again i say TERM LIMITS FOR EVERYONE!!!isnt it funny how nobady in gov is pushing for that!!

i would say that being dependant on gov is a choice in most cases.  yesterday i was at the laundrymat and saw at least 15 guys all young and fairly healthy looking obviously homeless washing their clothes . they asked me for change they asked me for soap they asked me for softener and finally they asked me which dryers dried the hottest!!! afterwards i had to laugh ....sad but true this is slowly becoming a very handicapped society! all these gentlemen will be getting access to public healthcare and WOW  i'm just so excited to give away more for free to people who have absolutely no intent on becoming positive members of society.

       True, to a great degree I think as well.  Helplessness is often a learned thing.  We here in America sure know how to grow them, don't we.  We, to some rather large degree, have moved our populations to this means to an end.  We are expectors instead of seekers.

I have a couple of comments to make. For the people who say the government can't run anything, I disagree. The goverment runs Medicare, and on the whole, it runs well. No one is turned down because of pre-existing conditions. You don't have to change doctors. Your bill doesn't get denied because that's their policy. Walter Reed Hospital is well known for it's excellent physicians, and patient care. That is also government run. Social security works well for what it is. It was always meant to be a supplement to other retirement funds. People who don't have other retirement funds, would be homeless and/or starving without the amount they do get.

Instead of asking a person from England about their health care, consider asking someone from Denmark, Holland or France. It's well known, England's health care system needs improving. I was recently in Italy, where I met a couple from Denmark. They were laughing and talking to the night clerk, when the night clerk said I was from the US. He told me they were discussing how much all of Europe loves Obama, and how silly Ameicans were, to be afraid of univesal health care. The Danes said they are very happy with it, and it didn't turn them into a socialist country. They asked me why Americans equate socialism with communism, when they are not the same thing. They also don't understand American's anti-gay marriage stance.

What many conservatives don't understand about the public option is, it won't be free. The young men kellyj mentioned, would have to pay for insurance. The public option will have different policies to pick from, depending on what they can pay. If they are able-bodied, they will have to pay something.

       If you think that medicare, medicade, and social security are efficiently run programs I won't argue with you on that point as I suspect your comb is missing a few teeth; by business standards they are quite poorly run hence from any monitary angle are bankrupt.  I guess you have lived with the Uncle Sam VISA economy concept so long that you have grown used to it.  As for Walter Reed being some pilar of government heathcare don't forget that it is run by the military that is expected to come to a higher standard than most other departments.  I work in the military healthcare system and the per patient dollars are not, by any means, an efficient business model.  The VA and PHS is more of a true government model to look at in terms of healthcare which I like to think of as an armpit of Uncle Sam.  My last point would be that, no we are not going communist, but any move to take free market functions and give overseeing powers to the government marginalizes the economy and this is well documented in Economic circles.  Some people choose to ignore that fact, but all the same it is the truth.  I like capitalism personally as it rewards great ideas and motivated people.  Giving the hunter his food causes the hunter to hunt no more, hence the lazy American socialist model, the expectors.  So you go and believe what you want, but the private sector most always runs things more monitarily efficient than big government.  Rose colored glasses sell well these days.  God bless you and yours.  No hate intended, peace out.

i would also ask the people from italy, denmark,holland or france  how possible it is for them to get work on their visas in neighboring countries and what happens to them if their work visa is denied!! these countries have extremely strict immigration laws and will give a job any day of the week to their native italians ,denmarks,hollnders or frenchmen etc than give it to someone on a visa!!! unlike america where a visa is not even necessary to work much less get healthcare ! you are comparing apples to oranges here!

       I am a CAPITALIST that lives in a country that got strong being a CAPITALIST country and is able to help others on occasion because of the monies it has produced from its CAPITALISM and consider some of these other countries as fair places to vacation sometimes not as any model for what I want my country to become as they are not monitaraly strong as we are because of our CAPITALISM.  If someone likes that kind of stuff please move yourself there as we here in America will continue to be a CAPITALIST country and do well because of it.  Beside you will be easily replaced because there are a lot more people in the world that seek to move here than most any place you think is better to move too.  Don't feel bad when you leave as your easily replaceable just as I am, but the only difference is that I want to stay, I love CAPITALISM, and I'll empty my clips on all those countries that seek to harm this CAPITALIST country that I love.  Don't worry you don't have to miss us because we will come to visit you on our vacations even though you will not be able to afford much travel after paying all the taxes to fuel your government givaways.  CAPITALISM ROCKS.  After all whats wrong with being able to feed and cloth your family by your own efforts and teaching your children to do the same and being greatful because you live in a nation that affords you that situation.

amen to that sir. and as for thinking its better to live in other countries i suggest a world tour that does not include europe but how about africa where they still have race wars .  you want to see what happens when a group in power tells others they can have nothing just because they are of a different tribe than the ruling class!! this does not happen in america!!here everyone has rights even those who do not belong here and do not pay taxes!!! this makes us the best country in the world and i for one am glad to be here.  i believe Pres Obama can do great things but he has to be willing to take a look at history with an open mind and see for himself where the mistakes were made.its not that hard to do especially if you want to really succeed and make changes for the better for all mankind and not just your party.

Ok a recent post somehone said medicare runs well.   Its too bad that the first thing the government is doing is shaving billions from medicare.  Too bad for the geezers!  My cancer ridden WWII vet dad who is a diehard Democrat........today said he was "rethinking his thoughts about Obama..............they take our medicare because SOME people cant get their own insurance"....................My response was "wecome to the Republican party".   No pleasure in saying it; he was sad, scared, and worried about my mom for when he dies. He is terminal, and this will be his last Christmas. Im set AGAINST universal healthcare 100%.

what turnp truck did you fall off?   My husband is INACTIVE 04; for excess of 25  yrs they never retire.  On the surface, he tells family he's retired, but as an officer is never retired and could be recalled whenever the powers that be deem it prudent to do so.  Oh and Im not military, Im just married to one of the OFFICERS so I'll bash Obama til the cows come home.    When I see those huge manilla envelopes in the mail from his post in Brirmingham I get terrified.   Oh yeah.................there is no such thing as 'automatic promotion'...........plenty of hoops to jump through.  Physcals, testing, pshyc evals...............but I guess they just stamped  your application and didnt bother look closely unless your just exagerating to impress the masses?
