Posted almost 6 years ago Hi, I am new to the site but have recently took my Oath as an officer in the United States Air Force. I really look forward to my training and the endless oppertunities that lie ahead. I leave next month for officer training but would be happy to entertain any questions as to what I have been through thus far as I started my application process in July of 06. I am going in as active duty so I can't speak for the reserve side but would be happy to send you in the right direction. If you have an interest here is a great link to some Air Force health care information: http://www.airforce.com/life/healthcare/index.php and this is a site on the training a nurse or other health care provider (with a BSN or higher) would go through: http://www.airforce.com/training/healthcare/index.php

Posted almost 6 years ago Cool. Thanks for the info. I would think the selection process for the Reserve starts in much the same way.

Posted over 5 years ago Has anyone heard of the NECP? Its for those already enlisted, but want to become AF Nurses. It's a really hard program to get into. I'm thinking about applying and if I dont get in I'm going to separate and do it the traditional way.

Posted over 5 years ago Precious you should look at which school you want most universities have ROTC and if you participate in ROTC while going to school you can get money for school and when you graduate go straight into the AF. ROTC is better because with the reserves there is a better chance of deploying overseas and having to leave school.
