hello,
i am a registered nurse with 16 yrs behind me,and another 12 in the medical feild, starting in 1979 as a CNA and working my way up the ladder to a RN.I have worked in a variety of feilds and have for the most part loved the journey. My ?,why won't managers give nurses a chance to grow,a change to spread their wings. We learn by doing.I have worked in several areas of management and loved it,especially the ADON and DON and found i had a good fit with it,the problem is i only had the job a short time,i was acting DON for almost a yr....i would like that job opportuntiy again, and i am presently searching.....but it is dishearting when you interveiw for a position, and you know you can do the job,but still, the one with the yrs of experiences gets the job,and their you are, faced with another disappointment. So i continue to look for my ideal job, while i study classes in management and professional development.Where do i go from here ??

I hate to tell you this-but there is no ideal job. They all have some down sides. I have been in nursing 27 yrs. and have had all kinds of jobs. None were ever perfect even tho I might have thought so at first.
