| Posted over 5 years ago I always tell my son who is in school to become an attorney........anything worth having doesn't come easy. Take a breath and have faith in yourself. Take a weekend break also if you can. Don't think about the books or anything, just you. Sorry this is the only advise I can give and I am sure I will be posting the same thing you did when I start school next month. Best of luck, and be proud of how far you have come! :O) |

| Posted over 5 years ago i agree with ajdillon that you need to take a break for yourself and do something non school related. I am a senior in a BSN program and i find myself at least once a month putting all my books away and just doing something with the family. If you don't make time for yourself you will burn out. It is a curriculum like no other.

| Posted over 5 years ago Oh, man.... I have 5 kids ages 6, 4, 3, 3, and 11 mos. I am only on my prereqs and already feel like during Nursing School I'll never see them! Let alone the light of day!!! ;) Money's tight, I have slowly declining levels of patience, and I'm already tired! But, I press on. School full time and stay at home with the kids. Night school has been the best thing ever and I'm scared, worried, excited, and nervous for the future!! But feeling great that I finally took that leap to get back in school!! I applaud all of you out there with kids.... I feel your stresses!!! :) Keep it up, ladies (and gents). |

| Posted over 5 years ago I am trying to finish school too, and I had my son 4months ago. It has been so hard. I am actually 6 weeks behind on my homework for my Med Law class. I have no idea what to do. I am trying to tell myself to just think about the future, and where I want to be after I finish. I am trying to use my son as my inspiration. |

| Posted over 5 years ago This is the time to think of yourself for the next three months. GET SLEEP and take at least an hour a day out for you, to relax. Nothing saps memory like exhaustion, and sounds like you're combining mental and physical exhaustion. Good luck!!!!! |

| Posted over 5 years ago I might beat you to the punch. I am just going to throw myself out the window LOL! Maybe. But I do take breaks, rest and refresh. I have to, or...I will throw myself out the window. (I can see you all calling the psych ward on me!) However, I really am enjoying it. Education, at least as I see it, can be a challenge but somewhere between the chaos, it can be enjoyable. |

| Posted about 5 years ago I too am a full-time student , but most important a full-time mom.....all I can say is take it one day at a time....try not to stress....ask lots of questions if you dont understand something.....find a GOOD study partner....and support is a wonderful thing. I have a girlfriend who will watch my youngest (8) for me, when I need to study. I have another girlfriend who likes to take me out after every semester to celebrate.....and after a long days work I come home and soak my feet....I cant always afford a pedicure. Basically, find your own escape and use it when you can. Just remember at the end of all this......you will be one Heck of a nurse and you then can help another struggling nursing student. Good luck to you all. |

| Posted over 4 years ago WOW!!!! Keep your head up and pray for God to strenghen you. I start school in June 09' and I'm also excited, nervous, an unsure of what the future holds. There's one thing I can stand on, and that's the word of God. Remember this Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me. I hope this helps and encourage you Thanks Angie Mitchell

| Posted about 4 years ago I too am an LPN but I'm in an ASN completion program. I have five children ages 2,3,4,8,and12 I'm not sure if we are going to make it ,lol. I'm also working part time 24-36 hours a week. I have found that the key is scheduling study time. I try to get up a couple hours early and stay up a couple hours later than the kids. I take my books everywhere, if we are going somewhere as a family I have my husband drive and then I study while traveling. Also while on campus stay on campus even if classes are let out early, study the remaining time, your family isn't expecting you home anyway. |
