Posted over 5 years ago Hi -- My name is Mary D and am very interested in becoming a nurse. It has only been recently that I have seriously considered starting nursing. With all the down-sizing within the last couple of years it is only a matter of time before my area of marketing is transitioned overseas. In any case, these events have caused me to take a look at where I'm at now and where I want to be. Being a "people person" and one who enjoys being w/people, learning about people, helping people I re-examined my childhood wish of becoming a nurse. So unlike most people I am sort of hoping to lose my job so that I may potentially pursue a new, rewarding and fulfilling career... nursing. Any advice on how a middle aged, "young" woman can restart her life in nursing is greatly appreciated. I look forward to "meeting" you all and learning from you. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Memex - you can do it! Start looking into what type of program you may be interested in, there are lots out there. |

| Posted over 5 years ago I am right there with you sister! Been unhappy for years because I had to work jobs to raise the kids and had no choice. Now, they are grown and I am giving myself a choice. I have earned it. The longer I put it off, it will probably never happen. Follow your gut and your heart. Good luck with whatever you choose to do and know that you aren't the only one going through it. |
