today there was a shooting just down the street from the clinic where I work. Several people were killed. Apparently they were targeted because they were immigrants. We see many of them at our clinic on a daily basis. They come here with nothing and live in horrible conditions, because it is still better than the life they left behind. They do the best they can, and their kids are their priority. They do whatever is needed to keep their kids fed and healthy.

it saddens me in my heart that things like this happen. Please pray for the victims and their families.

This is just so heartbreaking!  My heart goes out to all those families.  Like you said they are trying to make a better life for themselves, this is a sad world we live in when people are targeted because they are immigrants.  There is no race, creed, sex, religion that is more superior than another...."one nation under God"
