Kids can be so cruel. I often have fantasies of going back to the schools where kids made fun of me when I wore hand me downs. This is a very nice story. you should publish it.

Yeah, I agree. Also I will never forget that Clara Barton founded the American Red Cross. ( It is a test question ) A very inspirational story indeed!

Thank you for the compliment, no to publishing, this was difficult to write and it's just for my Nurse family here. After all so many of your are sweeping up my tears of frustration over going to nursing school. You Inspire me!

Hey very beautiful story. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger I believe I've heard somewhere. I know I feel "tempered" by some of my experiences. It just makes you have a much more interesting background to come back against the odds. Good job continue to strive for your goals & don't listen to all those neighsayers claiming "you can't do something". They just contribute to people's failure. God Bless.

Yes like the phoenix rising from ashes, the daffodils from the snow, you have risen above hardship and pain and your beauty shines through.

I agree with cd, kids can be exceptionally cruel, I would like to go back to show all of those who poked fun at me what I've become...RICH...not with money, but with blessings! This is a very touching recollection envyangels...Bless you for your courage, and bless Mrs. Brantley for the heart to make you stronger. Sometimes that's all it takes. One person _can_ change the world! Best of luck to you in all of your future endeavors!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, worn out and screaming "Woo-hoo"!!!

That story brought tears to my eyes. We all have a story to tell. It is amazing just how cruel kids are. Most of us have a story to tell. This is one that should be published.
