Transient ischemic attack- TIA -Temporary blockage in an artery supplying the brain.

Symptoms include: weakness or numbness in a limb, slurred speech, temporary blindness in one eye or double vision, numbness and tingling confusion, speech difficulties and dizziness or loss of balance.  Hearing loss, headache and eye pain are also symptoms.

A TIA occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted by a temporary blockage in an artery supplying the brain.  The pathological mechanism of a TIA is identical to that of certain kinds of stroke, except the normal circulation is restored within 24 hours and no permanent brain damage occurs, indeed, most TIAs resolve within a few minutes to an hour.  Sypmtoms occur suddenly and vary considerably depending on the part of the brain affected. Although sypmtoms of TIAs disappear completely without treatment, they frequently recur. Promt medical attention is important since TIAs are a warning sign of an impending stroke.

Seizure

electrical stimulus in the brain. can be caused by variety of things: drugs, ETOH withdrawal, tumors, scar tissue, fever, genetics, etc. can be mild responding to meds or debilitating requiring brain surgery. psuedo seizure: person thinks they are having "real" seizure, shows all signs and symptoms but EEG shows no electrical stimulus at all-its all psychological.
