I am a college freshman at a community college. I am VERy CONFUSED!!! i want to be a RN nue but i have to take two years of pre's. and two years of nursing. Is it like this in all colleges? if not i live in the n.y.c DOES ANYONE KNOW A COLLEGE THAT I CAN CONTACT? I am also confused about other things as well. I want to become a nursing ass. first and then work on my RN but my mom who is a LPN says that i should just go straight for the RN. Should I do the Nursing ASST. first and then get my RN? or should i just got for the RN? Please help meeeeee!

First off, maybe you should abbreviate nursing assistant by "nursing asst."  A "nursing ASS" is someone we've all worked with at some point.  You just need to get online and search the local colleges and find which ones have schools of nursing.  Call and set up an appointment with advisors.  They'll answer your questions.  Becoming a nursing assistant or the equivalent and working in the hospital setting will always be of benefit.

I also want to be an RN one day. I am enrolled in the Brown Mackie College for the LPN program, that is for a year. By the time I am done , Brown Mackie should have the RN program at their School. What I believe is a 2 year program. You only have 1 subject a month, but they learn more in one month than usual. They cram, you have to study like no other!
