Poll: If you could see 20 real NCLEX questions before the actual exam, would you want to see them? If yes, would you pay to see them?

I had a discussion in class the other day with a friend of mine and we decided to make a bet.

To keep this post objective, I can't tell what side I made the bet on... but please be honest!

Thanks!

Well seeing that there was only 1 vote before mine and it was in the "yes" column I would have to say that you would pay to see the 20 NCLEX questions! That is unless someone else voted and didn't leave a post. But either way no, I wouldn't pay to see the questions because if you are well prepared and know your stuff then you will be fine. I wouldn't want a nurse who passed the NCLEX by memorizing the answers to the questions he/she gets beforehand.

I agree, Emtpixie.  I believe that if you've been studying in nursing school, practice answering NCLEX questions and/or take the Kaplan Review course, you should be able to pass boards.

I am getting ready to take the NCLEX soon and I would love to see what the questions look like just to get a feel of how they are going to test me. I know that when we had our review the teacher said the questions would be higher end questions if we were doing well and I would like to see what she means by higher end questions. I feel pretty good about the test, I know I will be anxious the day of but I am sure that is normal. I am doing 90 questions everyday and comparing my answers to see where my weakness is and then I review the material. If anyone has any other suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it.  I wish everyone good fortune who is getting ready to take the exam!  I believe if you study and understand what the questions are asking you will do fine but I still would like to see some of their questions......I guess I will soon enough when I go to take the exam. I hope I pass!!!!!

I never got lucky by going only by those publications with possible nclex questions...................I dwelt on those fake questions in in those study thingies and sort of missed alot of time on studying all the other crap!  Lol.                 I still passed the first time, only the Good Lord  knows how I passed because I sure dont............plus if I had to retake the nclex, I might not be an RN now.     I sometims feel like such a dumbass.

I would think that if you could have the confidence going into the exam knowing that you would get the first 20 right  it might give you the boost you need.  You know how you feel when you start a test and the the first question you read you go... Holy Shit I don't have a clue.  You kind of think this is going to suck.  If you answer the first page with  very little difficulty then you don't feel so bad.

I'm not sure if you study all through school and pass that's an indication of how you will do on the boards.  I know someone who passed through and will be out almost a year now and has not been able to pass the boards.  I also know a few others like that and i know one person that it took two years for her to pass.  i don't want to discourage anyone but sometimes it's not about all the info you store it's the common sense that you have and the ability to prioritize.  Please let me know if anyone thinks I am wrong about that.  I do NCLEX questions with all my studying of my notes and they have helped me alot but some people I am in class with just can't get the priority thing down.

I AGREE WITH THE PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR THE 20 TEST ?S.  ITS GOOD TO KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT ON A TEST THAT YOU NEVER EXPERIENCED!

no lie, i would be tempted to see.  i don't know about paying top dollars unless i was sure that the questions are not fake.  we are human after all and temptation goes way back.  i am getting ready to take the NCLEX, i am nervous.  i am paying KAPLAN for their review, i hope it's worth it.

I'd be curious, not for the "oh, let me look up the answers and score a free 20 points!" but just to see what type of questions I'm going to be up against.

ABSOLUTELY.  Who wouldn't?  If anyone says no they are lying.  That is such an important exam.  If it would help, why not get a little peek?

To be quite honest I would not pay to see the 20 questions.  I prefer to pay for a complete course, like I did with ATI.  It was worth it because after being out of school for a while I managed to PASS the NCLEX.  Besides since the test is computerized and the questions are random based on performance who is to say if these very questions will be on your test.  I think that it is a TOTAL waste of time and money.

I would not want to see the questions. ...as a nurse I am expected to be a very ethical person and I do not think that seeing even just 20 questions before the exam would be ethical.

I would not want to see the 20 questions because that would be wrong. I am a RN and I did not take any review courses prior to boards. Yes I passed the first time. It was difficult to say the least but it can be done. To anyone in the nursing program now, study hard and understand the concept of the material. Use all your available resourses.
