| Posted about 3 years ago I take long soaking aromatherapy baths at least 3 days per week. I don't sit down day after day and listen to the news on TV. I am not ignorant of current events. I just don't allow all the negativity to enter my mind. I don't hang around people that pull me down. I read encouraging books all the time. I have 3 or 4 books going all the time. | Posted about 3 years ago <!--Session data--> Each person have a maximum tolerance to different kind of pressures and stress.It is a matter of how we handle stress in order for us to cope up with our daily living. Thank you for sharing your way of dealing with yourself and handling stress. I agree with your practices, It is not easy to deal with different people daily but yes people who are negative can add stress so we can go to people with positive outlook in life. Aromatherapy is relaxing. I like botanical products like oil and soap.Yes, we should not let too many information to cloud our mind. I personally take information which I need at the moment and not to absorbed everything that goes around the world because I cannot see the benefits of it and is there something I can do about it? I also go to the beach and watch the sunset and or go for a hot shower and cold shower in combination and apply botanical oil which is made of herbal plants manufactured here in Puerto Princesa City. Also, once in a while my husband and I go for a therapeutic massage in a clean place with aromatic fragrances and cool music. Balance is important to maintain our well-being,prayer and reading the Bible.I feel more revived whenever I go to Church. I hope our insights will also give ideas to others on how we can cope up from stress. Thanks again.

There are two types of stress for me: Short term and long term;
As far as short term. I seem to do ok. I am a former Navy Seal and Ernurse times 25 years. I am a firefighter and also a member of Dive Rescue. With short term stress I can block it and complete the mission; simply goal oriented. This does cause some stress on the marriage though because I find myself blocking her at times. An example is I have taped NASCAR Races on some Sundays and as soon as I got off work went into the study turned in on surround sound. My wife told me, “You walk in door and don’t say hi to me or kids and go to study and turn us out”. I told her, “don’t take offense or take it personal but I have had all the damn people I can take for today------give me just one hour and I will be back”. I just need about an hour That’s not good
Long term stress is killing me. I have only 40% hearing in my ears due to loud noises in the military. I have had a heart cath and got rooted out. My Bp is getting out of sight and I take 0.5 of Xanax to sleep at night. Needless to say I now have to take Cialis on a rare occasion. I have had a GSW to R knee in military and after 3 surgeries I am wearing down.
It ain’t all bad. I doubt my stress is worse than the rest of yawl’s. I work out at a gym regular. I am 6-0 and 212. My hobby is power lifting. I am madly in love with my wife and kids and of course grandkids now. My wife and I now take escapes. Our kids are 22, 24 and 26. if they need to get us they can call 911 and I have a pager otherwise they don’t need to know. My wife and I get couples massages also and love them. We think they are therapeutic and also sensual if in imagination only. I love aroma therapy. This former Navy Seal has a whirlpool and I love my Vaseline intensive care granules and cotton blossom soap. We float the Buffalo River in west Tn on occasions.
Have a great day dave |
