Do i need to live in the California to take the NCLEX exam?? can i work in another state after i take and pass the NCLEX in California? Dear PHY,

I really don't know how California works, but with reciprocity, you get to work in another state because this state accepts your state's licensing criteria. Don't take my word for it, call your local state BON!!!! They should be able to explain how they handle their own licensing laws. You don't have to live in California to take the NCLEX!!!! I lived in Florida and took the NCLEX in Alabama!!!!!! But, you have to pick which state you want to be licensed in, so the state where you tested can send the results to that BON!!!!

You need to contact the BON where you want to get your license from and ask about their rules of reciprocity or endorsement!!!!!!! Of course, it will be a small fee to get applications for endorsement or reciprocity!!! Just remember, the only silly question is the one not asked!!!!! GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
