Need a Job!!!

Posted about 4 years ago I graduated with an Associate in Dec 08. Its been 5mths and I can't find a job! I am so stressed!! I thought that having 9yrs of experience as a medical assistant would help me but it seems that no one cares!!! Everyday I call the different hospitals in NJ and nothing. The nurse recruiters don't even answer the phone. The calls always go straight to voicemail its like they don't even want to bother. I call.....I email.....I go to HR........what am I to do??? During school I worked part-time and the plan only allowed me to work part-time till school was over. The bills are piling up and I'm starting to lose my mind. I thought there was a nursing shortage!?!?! Am I doing something wrong? If anyone out there has some solid advice I would really appreciate it. I'm looking to network and get my resume out there....all I'm asking for is a chance.

| Posted about 4 years ago I can feel your pain about not having a job, I have been out of work for 3 months. I would recommend you take a step back an start from the beginning. Sign up on Career Builder or Monster.com, they have resume builder information that can help you write a better resume, Always have a cover letter specific to the job you are applying for. Read this link here at Nurse Link,5 Ways to Scream "I'm Unprofessional" . Brush up on your interviewing skills, it really is your time to shine and sell yourself. Good Luck, |

| Posted about 4 years ago Hi maric701....thanx for taking the time out to read and reply my post. I've been on Career Builder and Monster.com for a while. I recently had career builder review my resume for any tips to make it stand out more. Its hard!!! The only thing I can see is that right now in order to be considered for a job you have to have someone on the inside helping you out....all my classmates who have found jobs had someone on the inside helping move things along and getting them in for that interview that I just can't get!! Its frustrating!! But don't worry I'm not giving up and I'm staying positive! Thanks again and I'm gonna take a look at that article you recommended. |
