I was wondering I'm still in school taking my pre-reqs .  I was wondering what steps I would have to take to become a trauma nurse?

A trauma nurse is someone who works in the ER. I was a trauma nurse for years. Get experience when you get out of school, and apply in the ER. If you can get a Tech position in the ER while you are in school. You are a nursing assistant in the er. They will be more likely to hire you right out of school if you do that, and are GOOD... While you work in the ER as a RN you will take a certification TNCC. Just get experience...

I WENT TO SINCLAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND CAPITAL UNIVERSITY IN THE LATE 1980'S AND EARLY 1990'S. LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU FELLOW NURSING STUDENTS.

The one thing I would like to add to this excellent advise is that you should try to look for a level I trauma center that has offers an internship/training program for new grads.
