You wouldn't happen to be living in Northern California would you? If so there are no jobs for new grads here unless you worked for the hospital previously or know someone higher up. The economy did effect us because hospitals are wanting experienced nurses vs. new grads because it costs more to train new grads. My advice is commute or temporarily move. I looked for jobs in a 2hr radius from where I live and if you get 3 12 hour shifts its not too bad. I finally got a job after 6 months of looking. The funny thing is it was my first actual interview and they hired me. Don't give up, be persistent and you will find something!

I know of quite a few positions in Oklahoma. My best friend is a nurse who has been complaining about the lack of available nurses out there. I'm a Healthcare Recruiter, but I mostly work with Management and Director-level positions. Otherwise, I'd love to help you!

Where do you live? Have you chosen a speciality? Maybe I can refer you to some of my clients who are in need?
