WHY does'nt ANY National Nurses Organizations offer Healthcare for Nurses?? We'd have great buying power/leverage.Is is a conflict of interest perhaps with/for Hospital Associations and Healthcare Insurance Co.'s,therefore discouraged?

At This point,I'd even settle for health Insurance through a statewide organization like the local chapter of NLN...As I mentioned in my post,I am at the brink of closing on a substancial mortgage and my health insurance thru my agency is terrible.

What's the story, here?Nurses must be the only educated organized populace that does not offer their members insurance(!?)Huh?

Does anyone else the irony here? It must be by design somehow,I'm sure I'm not the first or the only one with the rotten

health insurance dilema.

-thanx,Sarah

Well, it sounds like an idea worth looking into.   I've never lived in an area where nursing unions are available.  I've made wish lists, and emailed a couple of organizations............but I think the South is scared of unions, lol.   People here wont mention nursing union out loud.........and I'm not brave enough myself to be the big mouth one at work.    bok bok bok  <doing the chicken dance>

We only have one heart, take care of it!

I agree. I am hoping to learn more about our nursing strategy nationwide. We really need to  come together in many ways, especially with the health care crisis and the nursing shortage due in 2020.

Just where is the  National Nurses Organizing Committee/California Nurses Association re this issue!?Can't they shake off the various entities who would oppose it and forge ahead with some kind of plan for nurses through their organization, just like any other organizedgroup does?

I find it mind boggling (and not far from an insult to intelligent nurses nation wide) that there isn't a nat'l healthcare or even statewide healthcare option for nurses!Huh?! I don't get it,but will continue pecking away at it...

I am about to take out a signifacint mortgage alone. My health insurence stinks, and there is nothing any nursing organization I'm enrolled in or can enroll in that has anything.I have TO GO through the ARABIAN HORSE ASSOC FOR DECENT HEALTH INSURENCE!!

Needless to say,I am incensed by this lack
