Getting my foot in the door

Posted almost 4 years ago Hey guys! I'm Jordynn and I recently got accepted into the BSN program at IU Northwest. I want to get into the hospitals ASAP. I know a hospital in my area which is in the Top 50 hospitals. They do a program called "Student Fellows" where you can kind of follow around the nurses and perform certain procedures alongside them. However you need one semester of clinicals down in order to be a part of this. Should I wait it out- I don't think I have that long until my clinicals start. Do you know of any other paid positions for nursing students in hospitals- other than this? The only reason I'm worried about pay is because I'm currently a manager at DQ. I make around 8.50 now- which is OK for now. But I'm not going to give that up for a volunteer job- not with the bills I have.
Any advice? |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Yea I'm in the same boat. I've applied for basic Companion and Transporter jobs which are clinical kind of. They don't require the completion of the Nursing Intro Clinical. They only require basic CPR/BLS and make about 10-12 dollars an hour in Baltimore. I would just search their job openings and apply for anything that doesn't require those classes. |
