I am trying to get my foot in the door as a CNA with no eductation budget, but everywhere i look they want you to have the certification already and no one seems to want to do on the job training.  This is snobbish too,  they should beopen to doing the training in their facility and should do it year round and not just once a year so more people can come into the profession.

Do you have a Vocational Technical School in your area?  If so check with them, I know that the ones in my area (Pennsylvania) run training classes fairly often.  Good Luck.

Any junior colleges around you?  Around here we have one nursing home that does on the job training but it is long and you have a committment to them plus it is hard to get into.  BUT there are a few Jr colleges that have ongoing CNA programs all year.  They fill up quick but they are less expensive then the one I did which was through a more private college.  Good luck I do hope you find something.

They have CNA training online now. I got  my training at a nursing home. Check some hospitals in your state I know in Chicago they have  some hospitals who actually have CNA training. The have PCT traininging in  the hospitals but you have to have a CNA certification. They have a Class online for PCT and it's actually a CNA class. Google PCT it's for several months you pay as you go but it's worth it Slso check some nursing homes in your state they may have CNA training there also.. But once getting your CNA training you can get trained at a hospital to do PCT(I did) and also clinical training in Phlebotomy and doing EKG's. That means more money in your pocket.

Join the US Army with a guarantee to be a 91C or 91B. Training is free. 91C can exit the Army and take the LPN/LVN boards with no further training.
