| Posted almost 4 years ago Both, but for different reasons. I prefer to get a temp. with a mercurial thermometer during baseline vitals. If there is no fever and the pt. isn't at high risk of or c/o a condition in which a fever may occur I just go with the digital. However, if the pt. is febrile I prefer mercurial as it is more accurate. Unfortunately the mercurial thermometers are a bit hard to come by these days due to the fear of mercury poisoning if it breaks. |
