| Posted almost 4 years ago I just saw the whole thing, it was a nice memorial and I'm glad it didn't turn into a circus. The most heartbreaking part of it was at the end where MJ's daughter was on stage speaking about her dad....VERY sad. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago I love Michael, he has stunned the world with his talent. I was a little girl when my mom went to one of his concerts. She brought me one of his photos and I just cried like a baby as I did when I found out he had passed away. He has left us all with the reality that we can accomplish any and everything we set out to do. We can overcome any obstacle in our way. No matter what ,or who thinks of us . NO ONE IN THIS WORLD IS PERFECT, START WITH THE MAN OR WOMAN IN THE MIRROR. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago I never liked Michael Jackson or his music and I think that all this idolization is just crazy. I do however feel sorry that he died, just as I feel sorry for anyone who dies. I also feel bad for his family. RIP MJ John L. Racher RN, BSN, MSRN-BC

I told my boyfriend, that I didn't think it was right for the media to give all the focus on M.J, I told him that there have been other celebrities that have died this year also, which have all been this month and last month, I think they should be remembered the same as M.J, the world should stop putting him on a pedetal. Death happens to us all, and our lives should not be partial because we were not as famous as he was. I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

I just want to hear about the other celebrities memorial too. They are human beings like M.J. I think they deserve some coverage also. Some died accidental like he did, some where victims of murder. I would like to hear about them also. Isn't that what news about VARIETY, not NOTIRITY I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. | Posted almost 4 years ago Your right cuttie, Farrah Faucet, and Ed McMahon were celebrities too, why is the media sleeping on this. I understand that MJ's death was so sudden, but they seem to have forgotten the other late greats. The Essence of Nursing is Caring. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago The media provides what consumers want most; supply and demand. Apparently consumers have an insatiable appetite for the Michael Jackson coverage. They must be out there or the media would not be blowing this up to the extent that they have. I was kind of surprised to hear that even though they anticipated upwards of 250,000 people to crowd the streets of LA, there were only approximately 1000. | Posted almost 4 years ago The one thing that surprises me more than anything about the Jackson coverage is; he is receiving tons of attention for his superstardom, but relatively little attention about the suspected molestation and alleged victims. I believe in respecting his family during such a grievious time, but just as his superstar status has drawn the positive attention, I'm surprised it isn't drawing more of the negative attention. Just having status of that magnitude commands both positive and negative attention; even during times that should be reserved for respect, grief and sanctuary. Unfortunately, it goes with the territory. I also realize that he was never convicted of the charges he faced. I believe people are legally innocent until proven guilty. I also believe that just because someone isn't found guilty in a court of law doesn't mean they are innocent. There was some pretty incriminating evidence against him; including some statements that he made during an interview that I watched. He openly talked about having children in bed. The whole Neverland thing and much more evidence certainly raised many, many red flags. Nobody knows the truth except him, God, and the victims; if it actually happened. My hope is that it didn't happen. If it didn't, I hope that he found peace before he died after being tormented by false accusers. If it did, I hope that he reconciled with God before he died, and any victims that suffer/ed find healing and contentment. | Posted almost 4 years ago what about these dr.'s who supposedly prescribed him these powerful meds for him to sleep. meds thru an IV....omg. this is serious business. since when do you need to be sedated to sleep through the night? what the hell. it's a shame he was such a troubled person. whatever he did, we'll never know. it's all between him and God now. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago You're right Samantha, it is serious stuff. The news said that the Dr. was not authorized to prescribe drugs in California. He may have a loop hole though. They said that because it's unprecedented for the drug in question to be prescribed for any other reason than what it's meant for; it has never been scheduled as a controled substance. Incidentally; the Dr. is licensed to prescribe drugs in Texas and somewhere else I believe, but not California. It will be very interesting to see how this all shakes out. I think they are very interested in getting to the bottom of it, and holding someone accountable. Regardless of how influencial a celebrity is, Dr's need to practice safely within thier boundaries. He can't blame Michael, it was his responsibilty to deny MJ's request if that is how it happened. There is so much of this stuff that happens; celebrities checking out prematurely at the hands of a "candy man." Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans ~ John Lennon Scott |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Im so glad yall brought this up. I liked MJ's music.............I havent bought any of his cd's since the mid 80's. I did have the number of soldiers who have died in afganisgan since June 25th................the number is scary. Another emotional topic is there have been a total of 4 marines fighting in Afganistan, who have died in the last 5 days................the thing that has bothered me is these 25 were from my community.........all of them lived within 20 minutes of my house. I know those families. I know that I have been blessed because my son made it back..........he does have lung damage, but heck..........10 fingers and 10 toes, there was an angel with Patrick when that roadside bomb went off. Some of Patricks unit in that truck with Patrick was hurts badly, he hasnt lost a leg, but all ligaments in bilateral legs totally messed up and he'll be in surgeries once he gets back to Ga............that guy was from Lawrenceville. That same roadside bomb killed the master sergeant, from Gadsden Alabama. I guess I feel our soldiers deserve to be honored by media...........they are heros! One of those 4 who live so close to me, are flying into the tiny airport in Calhoun GA......tomorrow..............and will be transfered to the funeral home................the only one in our town...................well, he arrives at the airport between 3 and 3:30 tomorrow afternoon. They have asked for the locals if possible to line hwy 41, the airport is on hwy 41 and is about 7 miles to the funeral home. From what I was told, the family was hoping to line the road in case those crazy protesters who spit on our servicemen show up. The subdivision we live in, the entrance is on hwy 41 &4 miles between the airport and the funeral home. Im praying non of those mean people who protest our soldiers funerals show up. Also, those bikers who were I think vietnam vets will be there to chapherone the hearse to the funeral home. I hope that poor famiy will get media attention. Not in the Michael Jackson media attention, just something to show respect and thanks for this young mans service in the Marines. This boy gave the ultimate sacrifice. He was 17 when he enlisted in the Marines and was 20 when killed by insurgents in afganistan on Thursday the 2nd of July. I've called our Senator, I hope Senator Chambliss does something.......ANYTHING!!!!!. We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

I think it was different with Elvis, but I do see your point. Elvis was in the army, sent to Germany..............Im sure the state dept kept him away from fights, but he wore the uniform, an wore it proudly. In Elviss own way, he was a hero to millions as well. My favorite cd by elvis is his gospel music. We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted almost 4 years ago The man is dead. Let's move forward and allow the family to mourn in peace without any media coverage.. It has become a circus. We care more about a musican than the service men that have been killed in line of duty. Learn to re-evaulate your priorities. Stop looking like idiots.

AMEN!!! I am so glad that everyone is in agreement with me on this. My boyfriend urgued with me about this, because he is a huge M.J fan. I felt so bad for everyone who has died recently, and didn't get any media attention. Angie mention about 5 marines died recently, I heard from a friend that 5 marines died on the day of M.J funeral/ Memorial services. I didn't know this, because everyone one was focused on M.J. That's so sad. I bet if those marines would of known that people don't care if they risks their lives so we can stay safe in this country so we can celebrate M.J's funeral, they would of been so disappointed, that a celebrity life is more important than theirs. I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. | Posted almost 4 years ago Although MJ had a sad life. He was rich beyond belief and lived in the lap of luxury. Those soldiers were not so lucky as to have unimaginable wealth and fame. Yet, they loved this country enough to die for it. I really think the media coverage is overboard. Yes , he was talented, yes he was troubled. In the end he was human just like everyone else. The fact that a bankrupt Califronia spent 1.4 million on this with no help whatsoever from the Jackson family is selfish on their part. I undersatnd people felt the need to say "goodbye", but when I die will the state of Texas pay for my funeral? I don't think so. Also, the balming of MD's for his death is ridiculous. MJ was an adult and knew what he was doing. I'm sure no-one forced him at gunpoint to take those drugs. Responsibility for his death is his and his alone. Several of his friends have said over and over if he was told "no" he's fire that person and just find someone who would give him what he wanted. He had untold wealth and did whatever he wanted. | Posted almost 4 years ago I am always sad when some loses a loved one but this whole MJ thing has gotten out of hand All the talk about how he will be immortaized is crazy. The people we should be looking up to are the people who research cancer and look for a cure and all the soldiers who have laid down their lives for this country so that MJ could do what he did. I have quit watching TV over the past week because I just can't stand to hear another word about him. I think this country has their values all screwed up. We need to teach our kids who and what is important and it is not MJ or any other celebrity out there. We have put these people above us all and it is a shame. The media needs to focus on the people in this country that can't pay their bills or feed their families or are losing their homes. 1.4 million for a funeral... do you realize what that could have done for families in California. Our society is really screwed up. We need a reality check here. I feel bad for his children but they will probably never want for anything and in the future God forbid we will hear about them most likely but not for the good.. They probably already have alot of emotional baggage. Just my opinion but that is what I like about this country we are free to have our opinions and that freedom didn't come from people like Michael Jackson. Our service to others is the rent we pay while here on earth!! |

| Posted almost 4 years ago I don't understand why in heck, did LA spend I heard could add up to 4 million dollars, on a celebrity that had money. My daughter's classes has been eliminated in school, and my high transcripts were delayed because of the budget, so I could get into a RN program. I am so freeken sick of this Caifornia life. I am serious thinking about leaving here. It seems like this state is headed over the clift literally!!!! I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Understand your anger. It's the entire country we have lost sight of what is important. All the money that was given to bail out these big companies and the little people are struggling to eat and live. What they should have done is give all that money to the citizens and the heck with the millionaires that ran these companies. If that money that was spent on the MJ funeral was handed out to the citizens of Calif. they could stimulate the economy. Hope you got into the RN program and I wish you well. Our service to others is the rent we pay while here on earth!! |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Thank you Cherly, I am going to my information session for the county of Los Angeles Allied nursing school tommorrow. I told them my transcipts were sent back, because of the budget crisis here in California, so I said, they will resend it in the mail, in four days, they said, that I had until September to get them in for the Spring semester of 2010. I am glad about that. I am not glad about the cancellation of my daughters highschool, and college classes/ summer school, I will leave this state, if my daughters can't continue there education here. My dad will be glad to have me live in Kokomo Indianna with him. I will work with my CNA, and use my LVN to do the LVN to BSN there. I am serious. Have a nice evenning. LOL............well sorry, it really isn't funny but I think people from outside of California have been saying that for years, but now even the people in California are saying it. It does seem crazy that your transcripts are delayed because of lack of funds, but they can pay 4 million for a funeral. Where are their priorities? John L. Racher RN, BSN, MSRN-BC

. If my mom wouldn't have got sick, I would of took my dad's offer to live with him in Indianna 12 years ago. He and his wife bought three houses since then, for a little of nothing. All I have here is stress, bad traffic, no money , high rent and cuts in education programs, especially college education.
