Hi, I want to become a RN and this will be my first year in a local community college. I recently graduated from high school and I was wondering what is a good schedule to get my prerequisites without overloading myself?

I've placed in Math 135 (I was suffering in algebra 2 and received D's in my 3rd and 4th quarter. She was a strict teacher, but I somehow knew the stuff on the placement exam) Nursing only requries math 100, so should I take 135?

English 100

-thank you!

Individual pre-req's vary slightly from college to college.  It's always a good idea to get of both of your English's in your first year.  If you can handle the higher level math take it, otherwise take the lower level.  Especially if you think its going to be a struggle.

Are you going full time the first year?   If so, try to take your A&P's one each semester as well.  A lot of it, depends on do you work?, are you doing a full load?, and what kind of student you are.

My extensive military knowledge is not limited to just being in line at the commissary, I also have extensive military knowledge of the 'Class Six'.

Why don't you follow the regular schedule? I think you're an irregular student 'coz you're trying to replace your subjects that is given to you. Try to take it easy, nursing is one of the hard course in college and you should take all the consequences that it may offer.

Take a course on how to study. Learn to apply logic to situations and try to think outside the box to be sucessful.

I am in an ADN program at a 4yr state school in NY.  Required prereqs (before applying these must be taken) for my program are: A&P 1 &2, Intro to Psych and English Composition.  Also needed are Developmental or Child Psych, English Literature and Sociology.  You should check the programs where you want to go and see what they require and if the courses will transfer if you are taking them at a different school than where you will be applying for the Nursing Program.  HTH!
