Here is a new one folks! I read the forum everyday and I am so amazed with all the acronyms and Abbrev. such as ADON, DON, LTC, CBC, RN, LPN, CNA, GYN, (the list goes on and on and on...!!!)
I start the RN program in the Spring 08 and so I thought I could get a little bit ahead of the game by learning from everyone else!! So, post as many as you can come up with! Thanks

I FOUND IT! Go to Library and type nurse abbreviation guide-it will take you to it. Have at it!

ladypettigrew: ask questions! that is a good start. Do not feel bad with all of the acronyms. there are many I run into and do not know. Just when you think you have learned em all, here they come with more. Now I am learning all of the jail lingo and their codes that are nothing what the hospital had. Example: in the hospital code Red or Dr Red is a fire. In the jail Code Red is referring to inmates fighting.

Charlita and NevadaRN, I love seeing users who know the site content so well.

Here is where you can find NursingLink’s Abbreviation Guide.

Good luck in school!
