Posted 4 months ago has any one noticed when there is a full moon the behavior in patients change?? I used to work at a memory care center and I noticed a week prior to the full moon a huge difference in how the residents behaved in example more irritation, aggitation, and more falls. the day of the full moon there is a lot of restlessness more chaos and more family members freaking out on staff. I have a million full moon stories to share, but I would love to hear your thoughts and stories on this topic. Becky |

| Posted 2 months ago I think it's true..........In LTC dementia pts. get a little harder to handle during the full moon. "Softly. deftly, music shall caress you. Feel it, hear it, secretly possess you...." |

| Posted 2 months ago I worked in a psyche unit for years and I,as well as my coworkers, found this to be true mainly with Bi-polar patients. Joni |

Here are a few and there are many more. Have a good one homer and like I said, I don't know either way, yet there is evidence for either side. More than any others it seems to effect non-humans more than humans, women more than men, and certainly schizophranic mental populations are an area of centration in this full moon issue as well. I read a endlessly, no fiction.

| Posted about 1 month ago Hey Becky, that is a good question to pose. I never really belived it when i was in med/sur nursing, but once I was in the ER, I noticed that there were more strange accidents, and weird behavior from patients. Was it the moon? I do not know, but I read in a biological science journal once about moon effects. It said that since the moon acts on the oceans, and lakes to provide tides and that the tides have the largest swings during full moons, that why wouldn't they act upon the CSF and other fluids within the body. I have never read any studies on this, but it does make some sense. Who knows, but it seems to be true. Nursing demands extremely high ethics red44pc@yahoo.com |

| Posted 25 days ago Ask any emergency-room worker, cop, etc. They will vouch for the effect.
It's like saying "there are no such things as ghosts because I've never seen one". |

| Posted 24 days ago Most deffantly!! I work in LTC and these people really get wacky about a week before a full moon. With a full moon only days away the last several nights have been crazy with residents screaming, climbing out of bed, falls.....families yelling over tiny trivial things. ect. |
