Are certifications good nationally or just at the state level

When I got my certification, I asked if there was some sort of blanket certification, the proctor told me to contact the state nurse aide registry board and tell them if I were to move, and they would help me contact the state I was moving to, and they would let me work in that state without re-training and re-testing.

So, eventhough you take the "STATE" exam it's considered "National"?
