Will this position be in demand in the future?

Yes, I work in a skilled nursing facility and with all of the technological advancements being made people are living longer and being discharged from the hospital sooner.  So this position will definately be in demand and is expected to grow.

Avg salary range?

median salary 40,000

Is this position fulltime partime seasonal or shift work?

you can work either full time or partime usually 8hr shifts sometimes 12hr shifts

Any additional Info

I enjoy working at a SNF we have both rehab and longterm pt.s I work 12 hr shifts which includes every other weekend.  It is a lot of hard work but it is very rewarding.  I have any where from 26 to 31 pt's on any given day.  I was afraid that I would not get as much experience that I would in a hosp but I do.  You see Trach's, vents, G tubes, picc lines and IV's.  I feel that working at a SNF is a great learning experience for me until I get my RN.  No matter what aspect of nursing you deciede to go into you will enjoy it and I wish you the best of luck.
