Hello All,

I just took the nclex this morning and I feel like I failed. It shut off at 75 questions. I know everyone tells me that its a good indicator. But deep down inside I feel like I totally failed it. I been trying to do things to keep my mind off of it but it's not working. I feel like I am going to have a breakdown. While taking the test I knew for sure some questions and then there were others that I didnt know and just guessed. I tried the pearson trick and it didn't allow me to continue. I hope thats a good thing. To everyone awaiting for results like I am best of luck. I'l let you guys know by friday.

Hi dear

And the stress and anxiety begins...  waiting is torture.. cruel and unusual punishment... but until the test is set up so that you know your results right way... we have to wait.....  I just went through that process 2 weeks ago.  Do everything you can to distract yourself, and stay busy....  I really hope that you pass the test. I too had 75 questions, and I was near 100% sure I failed, but thankfully, I passed..   Try not to get so hung up on the number of questions because no matter how many questions you have, the results can go either way. Remember, stay busy... and all the best to you.

My dear comrads, I am deeply sorry that you too had to go through this barbaric phase.  I guess it's our right of passage. I took the test two weeks ago and thought that i would go crazy while waiting. Who invented this waiting game anyway? I just want two minutes with him/her.  Girl I was having anxiety attacks.  I was so scared of even checking the Pearson trick.  I was basically crippled with fear.  I even woke up sweating.  I tortured myself for an extra five days unnecessarily since the result was posted the following day. I was too scared to check. I had the entire 265 questions.  I walked out of the exam room feeling like a complete failure inspite of my optimism.  The only questions I was confident about  involved drug calculations.  Anyway, I brought this up to say that I PASSED the exam.  I have been on cloud nine ever since. My best advice is to please check the result asap, no need causing yourself anymore mental anguish.  I doubt that there will be anything substantial to cause the necessary distraction. Thanks for sharing. I am sending some positive vibes your way. BE OPTIMISTIC. It will be alright.

PS: It takes 48hrs after for the quick result to be available on Pearson. Please wait at least 24hrs before implementing the Pearson trick. It will only cause more anxiety if you check it sooner.

HI All........OMG  I just checked IPLA and passed.....It said Registered Nurse along with my license #....I'm totally stunned...I left yesterday thinking I bombed the exam..Had so many SATA so I thought i was getting them all wrong so I must have failed...YOu just never know.  75 to 265 questions, the number means nothing. I'm sure we all walk out of pearsonvue feeling like we failed. Thank god it over.  The test is such a mind game. I studied so hard and took 100's if not 1000's of test questions and still felt awful when i left. When the test shut off at 75 I wsent NOOOO! I didn't think i answered enough correctly.  I so glad its over. And now i can say I'm an RN! .....PS  I havae such respect for nurses...We all tried and worked so very hard for this and we all havae our own stories, trial and tribulations.  I give a big round of applause to all of us. LPN's RN's We definately earned our titles.   good luch to those still waiting....

YAAAAYYYYY!!!!  CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!   When I found out that I passed, I screamed and cried... There are not enough words to describe that feeling.  It was an amazing out-of-body experience to say the least. I've been on cloud 465 since...   You're right, the number of questions means nothing!  When one sits in front of the computer, it's a very vulnerable feeling, for with all the studying you've done and all the questions, your exam can still have sooo much info and topics on there that you know scarcely anything about. I commend anyone who has worked hard through nursing school and sits the boards. I am very happy for all those who have gone before us and passed.  I commend and will continue to encourage all those those who have had to take the NCLEX more than once. (I passed the nclex on the 2nd try with 75 questions) Now you can finally breathe a HUGE sigh of relief. Please do  treat yourself to something - a favorite dessert, spa, dinner, anything... you have earned and deserve it!. CONGRATULATIONS again and GOD BLESS.

Hey guys thank you soooo much for all of your advices and comments. I guess this is all part of the experience. You are right the number doesn't mean anything because I also had 75 questions and i am going crazy right now. I try to do things to keep my mind busy but whenever I am not at the movies or friend's house, I start thinking again about what if I failed. I feel like if I didn't answer enough correct hard questions. I just cant wait till tomorrow but then again I'm like OMG i dot want to be the one to open the web page when i check. I don't know what I am gonna do if I don't. To polly_dipsia OMG!! i am sooo happy and proud of you. I wish I can feel the way you feel right now. I wanted to ask you what state did you take your exam that you already got your results. I live in NJ and we have to wait 48 hrs of torture. I am happy for everyone that passed what a relief.

Your welcome dear. Glad to be of help. Waiting for the results is hard. I am hoping and praying that you are successful too. Do you have a close friend or someone that can be with you when you get your results? That would help. I tested on the 21st of last month...  so did my best friend. it a plus having someone going through the testing experience the same time i was. we decided to wait a week to check with our BON for our results. we were on pin and needles for days. finally, the following monday we couldnt take it anymore. my best friend checked her results very early that morning and passed. but i was terrified to check my results on my own.. i was shaking and boarderline nauseous.   so she came over and checked my results with me. she also came for support just in case i failed. but thankfully, i passed too.  we, screamed, cried and hugged. it was amazing....  wishing, hoping and praying for the best with your results.

Yes I do have a friend that would be willing to come to my place when I get the results. I am gonna call her to see if she is around. To make it even worse I have an interview today at my job. Do you have a job yet??

I am so glad for all of you that had passed the NCLEX. I have till Oct to take the test but couldn't bring myself into calling to schedule for the exam. I have a test anxiety and I get cold, sweaty hands and feet just to think about "testing". My LPN was 1 take but I had already sat for the board a few times for my RN and I'm really nervous about retaking (I guess I'm thinking of the worst )plus I've been out of school for 5 years now . I wish I know how to overcome my anxiety. Anyway, I think all you members are really great especially in giving support and encouragement. GOD BLESS!!!

YYAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!!!   I'M SOOO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!  THAT'S GREAT!!!  CONGRATULATIONS!!!!   This is so exciting! You and Polly_dipsia (and everyone else who were successful) having passed the test! Like I said with my previous response, do treat yourself with something special. You deserve it!

To Mlaude, you have to work on your test anxiety. One way you can do that is to take practice tests - as much as your possible can. You also have to set an exam date at some point.  It gives you a time frame to work towards. Also, it sounds like you have received your ATT and that it will expire in Oct. The first time I scheduled my NCLEX, I was scared too. When I finally did it, I had some form of a panic attack.  You can do this, and you are not alone. Stay strong. What study materials are you using. I recommend ATI. The test questions are really challenging. I found them to be harder than the questions on the test itself. Check it out at www.atitesting.com
