AND also by the way,

If you think this case is unique, the last admission I did in NJ was a young woman who had twin boys, age 2 - She drowned one in the toilet - I asked her why. She said, as though I should have known, "Because he was the EVIL one!"

Thank you, Captain.  That's what I was looking for, and exactly my point, that is has to be shown or proven that she was not in her right mind.  By the way, the fact that she called 911 after her offense.....how do you think that will effect her insanity defense?

You're welcome!

The prosecutor will certainly use the 911 call as part of the evidence that she DID know right from wrong!

It is up to a judge to say that this police officer was indeed insane.  CaptainEricRN. You have a good point, because she called 911 after she killed her infant, states she was in her right mind, I think she called 911, because she was crying out for help, within herself. You can have a mental disorder,  and commit a crime, and show remorse, afterwards, and you still can stand trial. My brother has Schizophrenia, one time he was missing for one week, because he didn't take his meds. He had forgot where he was. It is so many types of Schizophrenia. Depending on her type, and was she on her meds, or not, will have a say, in her sentencing.
