Hello, I am not sure if this is the right place for the following question:

Has anyone ever heard of a "Living Now" loan available to single mothers? It is so they can attend school and not have to worry about having to make ends meet for bills (i.e. rent, groceries, utilities) A friend of mine said that you have to ask about it, they (meaning I guess financial aid or loan lenders) will not just offer it to you. She said you can get a loan to cover you for your living expenses while you attend school. I have been trying to do research on this through google and I keep coming up short . This friend of mine we met at a  training class at work and now we are in different departments. So I am not able to get more deatiled info from her, and believe me I have tried getting in touch with her, however no avil.

Thanks in advance for any info you have.

There are a few websites that offer information on all type of student loans, www.wisegeek.com , www.salliemae.com , www.simpletuition.com , www.finaid.org . There is something called "student loan for off campus housing" and I am going to send you a description from www.wiki.answers.com - The amount of student loan aid you receive is usually "Need-Based". Your family income (including any scholarships you may have) and assets are weighed against the costs of the school you will be attending. Once you have the loan approved, you can use the money for whatever you wish, but the lender evaluating your "need" will allow for the cost of on-campus housing if it is available.

I hope that you find what you need.
