Posted over 5 years ago Is anyone out there taking Inderal LA for migraines? I am taking Inderal for migraines and have recently tried to wean off of it. I had some major side effects, even after 3 months off of it and had to restart it. I was diagnosed with sinus tach and was told it was because of the Inderal. I was also informed that my sympotms would worsen the longer I took the Inderal. Has anyone else had these effects, or know of anyone that did???? |

| Posted over 5 years ago Inderal is a beta-blocker. Side effects is generally well tolerated, and side effects are mild and transient. Sinus tach is, as I understand it, is not a recognized side effect of Inderal. I would strongly suggest for you to see a neurologist, get some blood levels done, and let the neurologist wean you off the Inderal. But I will tell you, the alternative to Inderal is Topamax, and Topamax has more significant side effects. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Thanks for the info.Unfortunately I have tried Topamax, and I was completely out of character while on it. It made me mean and very quick to anger. I have had numerous studies done ove the years. I was diagnosed with migraines in early adolescence and have been on Inderal for about 9 years. My Neurologist does not seem to see any problem with me staying on Inderal as long as it is help (which it is now that I am back on it). It is my GYN doc that seems to feel it is a problem because of my cardiac issues off of the Inderal. Docs are too confusing sometimes, I'm glad I'm a nurse! |
