I also want to add;

Muslims believe that Jesus was a man (a prophet is a man)

Jews believe that Jesus was a man (a propehet)

Christians believe that Jesus is God.

Actually......the SON of God

Again, you need to dig deaper in your understanding of Christianity.  The Father, and son are one....Hence Jesus is God.

It is ironic that christians are disussing the nuances of god/jesus on a forum started by and adressed to nonbelivers..

No, what is ironic is that NonChristians, non god believers are experts on religion and God.

If education will push me to stop believe in God.I would exchange the highest education on earth against my belief.I can't really understand how someone in medical filed is not a believer.Every day, I have heard and I have seen miracles specially when educators say no, they can, God say yes, he can.He still heals many with HIV/AIDs, Cancer and much more.

The hishest mistakes that someonce could ever made is to think that God does not exist>NO matter who you are, I can't imagine a life without God.

Most educated people do not believe in God, that is why they are more Gays, criminals, misearable and above all, they will have to be judge by the highest trone.I hope that their education can save them on the judgment day.

I really cannot post on this subject any more.. it is difficult for me to both educate you in religious and world history and  then demonstrate why this history supports a position i take.. you have not read the koran.. i doubt you have read the entire bible... and you are lacking in historical knowledge...RE; the origins of islam and christianity.

No I have not read the kloran nor have I read the bible. When i want to read fiction, I choose something more current.

I think it is all the believers that continue to act as experts on religion and god. I do not believe in god, and I do not consider myself an expert on religion. What I consider myself is a woman who thinks for herself. I do not need anyone to tell me what I can and can not do. So leave me alone and let me live my life the way I want it.

LOL........the Koran and the Bible as fiction. I like that............I have never read them either, but I always wondered, if there is a God is he a Muslum God, a Christian God or a Jewish God?  Or are there many Gods?

You should read those books. It is difficult to discuss a subject without knowing a bit about the other side and here they are comming from.

I do not beleive for ONE second that God is choosing to heal specific people only.  That is lunacy.  There are millions of sick, homeless, hungry, abused people in the world.  Why on earth would God choose only a few to heal when we are ALL his children?  The lack of common sense that believers have is really starting to make me wonder.

1. Yes there were foxholes in Vietnam... Grenade sumps LOL "ooops! Dropped it!"

Foxholes, ratholes, tunnels, you name it... and most of them had vc in them, who, by the way, were athiests (or Buddhists). If you dug the sump deep enough, it could save your life, you'd just spend it deaf and stupid.

Why should I read them, like I said, they are fiction. These people who base their whole life on these works of fiction, might as well base their lives on "The Cat in the Hat" another fictional book with just as stupid ideas.

God has cured AIDs? No kidding? Tell you what, you show me ONE CASE of AIDs cured and I will become an evangelical bible thumping bible literalist christian.

I think showing me a documanted case of AIDs cured is a small price to pay for my eternal soul.

And why does not god cure all cases??

Hmmm, most here are still confusing ATHEISM (believing there is no God of any kind) with DEISM (believing there is a God in the sense of a higher power, creating force, or whatever).

What you are all arguing against is the personal Christian / Jewisah / Muslim God, who observes and judges us.

BIG difference. I am a Deist.

Who are we insulting? That imaginary 'he' that everyone talks about?  You can not insult someone who does not exist.

Also comparing the Bible to The Cat in the Hat was cute. I don't think it was a knock against Dr. Seuss, just a clever way to say that the Bible is a work of fiction.

I understand.  As opposed to a Theist.  Most Atheist that convert become Deist.  Those of you who do not understand the difference in these matters should not be in this forum.  I am a Christian who has deeply explored both sides of the arguement and what I see here is mess of babble.  Although I'm happy there are more self proclaimed Christians on this site as a whole many of you have little apoligenic knowledge which is perhaps as weak as Sevo's Atheist arguement as ego filled as it be.  I am were I am lead to be, with God and educated as to why I believe, but the only crowd I have any sympathy for besides my Christian brothers and sister (we are all related through the Father) are agnostics in the claim that they don't know.  Sevo's claim is that he is sure that there is not a 'He who is' (God); an odd pairing with being a Nurse heavly conceared with his own monitary status and being an expert in all ideals athesit and somewhat otherwise, and a racer wantabe too.  Agnostics are still destined for the lake of fire but they are smart enough to admit they just do not know and that is the main premise for any arguements for those atheist.  Atheist claim to know there is not a 'He who is' so just as a Christian is challenged please prove there is not a He who is those of you claiming to be atheist.  The Christian is full of Christ, the agnostic does not know which is still noble and I pray for them, but the agnostic is full of spite and claims I have seen no reason to believe.  God bless you all as he has love for everyone, believers or not, but don't forget he who is is a God of justice to and the lake awaits all evil.

It is not up to me as an atheist to prove there is no god. Why do you not prove there is? No one has ever proved there was a god.  So you go on believing there is a god and I will use my brains, my intelligence to know there is no god.

As for burning in a lake of fire, well that is an old wifes tale to scare people. Like telling your kids that the boogieman will get you if you don't watch out.

Yep.. I am concerned with my MONETARY status...and unless you roam the earth in sack cloth and ashes begging alms .. you do too....race cars tend to be expensive.... as for racer wannbe? SCCA CenDiv 2nd place... AND 3rd in the Skip Barber Forumla RT 2000 series...Grand Masters divison... not a wannbe be.. I really am a real live race car driver.

As for your lake of fire.... PUHLEASSEEE... it does not scare me a bit.. Ill just wear my Nomex drivers suit, gloves.balaclava, helmet and boots.

The petty insults... or attempts anyway... really do not hurt my feelings....as erudite as you attempt to sound  in your post.. you are nothing more than another thumper who needs a fear of god to act in a decent and human way... motivation to act out of fear is a very low level of exsistence... and i really do feel sorry for you..

Your syntax and attempt to express your ideas in a cogent form is a bit disturbing for someone who has graduated from high school.

All athiests want is for god belivers to leave us alone... do NOT try to get laws passed based on your fantasy of reality.

EVERY SINGLE MAJOR war on this planet right now is based on a belief in god,,,,your god does NOTHING.. i have never seen god regrow a limb... restore paralysis in a person with a severed spinal cord....

I HAVE however seen  your people begging god for relief from agonizing pain and parents beg god to let their child live...god was not taking calls that day.

If your god treats humans the way he does,, he certainly hold us in contempt...and i want nothing to do with some nutjob god with the temper of a 2 year old and the jealousy of a teenaged girl.

You live by god's rules??/ ever read Deuteronomy??? give it a try and live by THOSE rules...  you will end up in jail.. but do not worry EVERYONE finds jesus in jail.. you will just be ahead of the game

Guess what.... this is a thread BY an atheist FOR athiests.. there is an entire section for christian nurses.. might I suggest you go rant there... I am sure they will be more supportive than I am.

I do not troll the christian nurses threads,, i would ask you show the same restraint.

1. Being concerned with one's monetary status is necessary. I guess repeatedly bringing it up on Nursing Link seems a bit arrogant to some. I am duly impressed to hear that someone is a CRNA - don't need to hear how much money they make, I already know.

2. SCCA.... very nice. I used to be on a Formula V pit crew. Fun!

3. For the last time - many people, particularly many educated and intelligent people - believe in God: An unknown entity which created the universe, and orders that universe. I personally don't believe that the creating force in the universe is going to chuck people into a lake of fire. But if some believe that, okay with me.

4. Just about every organized religion has, at some time, been responsible for terrible wars and violence. But then again, just about every organized religion has pursued noble causes and worked diligently to help other people in need.

5. I hate these "anonymous" things.
