| Posted almost 4 years ago TCotteen, I think you hit the nail on the head! SEVOFLURANE frequently posts some of the most hateful, offensive words I have read on NL. |

Sevoflurane not only hates God, I think he hates everyone, including himself. Has anyone ever gone to his profile? You will notice he has no friends. Not even the two staff members who are friends with everyone. I can sure see why. I think he is on here for one reason only, to post obnoxious and offensive remarks. It doesn't matter what forum he goes to, he is never nice. I ignore his posts now and just go on to others that are non-haters. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago I agree with the last poster. Sevoflurane never has anything nice to say about anything. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago A coupld of points seem to require clarification as I have been psychoanalyzed based on posts in a forum..
I do not have everything... as a matter of fact I can think of few things I do hate. I do NOT hate god.. I do not believe god exsists... sooooo... it would be impossible to hate a nonexsistant entity, I do not have freinds on my profile because, guess what, I do not accept invitations to be freinds..I find it childish and inane.... in other words.. i choose not to sit at the cool kid's lunch table. As for your pity.. thanks but no thanks...pity from a random forum chatter means nothing to me.... |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Hahaha, I have to admit that I personally find this discussion a tad on the interesting side what with all of you staunch religious peoples ganging up on Sevoflurane. In all honestly he/she just posed an innitially innocent question and that little quib apparently got everyone all riled up hahah. I don't know, I do enjoy conversations about religion and whether one god exists over another god. Or if they did exist why everyone's all omniscient and ever benevelent god would allow a fellow god fearing woman to be raped several times before dismemberment at the hands of another god fearing group or men? Oh the question and discussions are potentially endless =] You know, in my personal opinion I look at large, organized religions as the Avatar of the Evil they so denounce hahha, but that is just a personal opinion. Just look into the history of your churches, I am sure you will find something displeasing in there somewhere. Except for maybe Budism...those folks are interesting, very nice people though. And if there is, in all reality a Being of unimaginable power and majesty floating around up there then I for one think that it is the farthest thing from anything that your bibles portray hahaha

| Posted almost 4 years ago I am not necessarily atheist, probably agnostic. I dont really care for a title. I have gotten alot of crap for this from my friends and family. I believe there MAY be a god, or 2 or 5. I dont believe that any one religion has it right. They all have good things and bad things about them. Besides most of their beliefs are based around the same historical events and have basically the same ideals. I think it is good for some people to have some religion, purely for the community and faith factors. I, myself, do good by others, treat them well, care about others and my planet, and raise my children to do the same. This is how I believe I may obtain whatever good may come after life. If there IS a god, he/she will not deny entry to whatever afterlife there may be, just because I did not persecute or judge others based on their beliefs. I have very strong convictions, and not because I am a member of a church. -MMullican |

| Posted almost 4 years ago I dont go to any church, in fact I hate going to church. I dont call my self any one religion, I am just me and what I believe. Also, I dont think you have to go to church to believe in God, and that is one of the reasons I dont like church. A building full of people who judge you and so called organized was never mentioned in the bible. That being said, I do believe he is up there. Oh and to the poster who asked why He would allow such things to happen, He doesnt, its caled free will, You can thank Adam and Eve for that. Reading suggestion......The Shack |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Sevo................as a nurse, there are a couple of things I dont do while on the clock...............I dont talk politics with patients and if they start fussing about politicians, I find a way to change the subject like...............' has your pain inproved since I was checking on you an hour ago?', Stuff like that............and I never bring up religion, especially if its a new patient because I read the patients h&p, and my facility half the time leaves out their religious preference. If I walk in the room and they are praying, I bow my head, say nothing, quietly leave, and come back when their company has gone. i am a christian, live in the bible belt and its part of my culture, but I never took it seriously til a few monthes ago...............Im an ex-wild child,I my dream job before I graduated from high school was to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and my mom thought I was insane and had no intention of taking me to Dallas for tryouts! Im so glad Im not like that now. Its not productive ,in my case, Ive made huge bad decisions when a wild child. Oh............by the way, I was always at the cool table, but never had to work to earn that right. Im just perky. Now your athiest and I respect your right to feel any way you want to, but dude, you seem unhappy. Want me to call your brother for you/? Will you be my friend? |

Right, isn't that so common sense, blaming it all on God?! |

| Posted almost 4 years ago I read it here, and have used it myself; churches are full of hypocrites. The truth is; yes they are. I attend church, and I guarantee that I am a sinner. If a person isn't a sinner, there is no need for God because he is FOR sinners. That is what salvation is all about. Jesus was sent to bridge, or be a way for sinners to reconcile with God. I am not about to get into a debate about which religion is the TRUE religion and which one is not. I am a Christian regardless of which religion I belong to, unless it may be a non-Christian religion, then I would not be Christian. I expressed my belief on another thread about the difference between spirituality and organized religion. If I thought religion was absolutely right on every issue, and I had to believe every ritual to the letter, I wouldn't have become Christian. Just as the name Christian states, it's about Christ, not about who eats fish on Friday or who is baptized by total immersion. I had to wrestle with alot of myths, lies and truths in order to come to terms with my stand. God either is, or he is not. I prayed to Him out of desparation, He answered my prayers, and I accepted Him as "THE way, THE truth and THE life." The only regret that I have is that I waited until I had exhausted all of my other options trying to find my way out of the Hell that I was in. I used God as a last resort, and it was the only thing that actually worked. All of my other efforts to find freedom were vain attempts that prolonged my suffering and drove me to the brink of suicide. If I learned nothing else, I learned that rock bottom is as hard as hell. (pun intended) Have a great day everybody.

| Posted almost 4 years ago I am methodist, I do think its cute when I run into a baptist pal in the liquor store.........we dont duck. As a matter of fact, I smile and greet them out loud, lol. Now this is one of the most stupid things I ever did <besides hooking up with husbands #1 and 2>. I 'borrowed a couple of things I found in the bottom of my sisters closet when I was packing for a summer church retreat: a bottle of grain alcohol and a bottle of sloe gin. Well, I didnt take the bottles.............I dumped the booz into juice containers and refilled her bottles up with water for the grain alcohol; and cherry koolaide for the sloe gin. I also got busted along with my best friend <she went to law school at Columbia working her way through law school dancing with the Rockets> and her dad was the county and city judge for our town. Canooing with a hangover sucks. |

NO, this is not blaming God. Before Adam and Eve sinned, the concept of free will did not even exist. When Adam and Eve sinned, the nature of the world completely changed and humans had to possess free will. This was a natural consequence, NOT a punishment nor an act of God. I could go into more depth and detail, but I wouldn't want to bore all the atheists on this forum. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago I am an atheist nurse. While I personally do not believe in god, I do not push my beliefs (or non-beliefs as it were) on anyone. This IS a free country, and one can believe anything one wants to, or not believe... Likewise, I do not wish to have anyone else's beliefs forced on me. I don't really tell a lot of people that I am atheist, mainly because it really just never comes up, and I don't feel the need to disclose personal inofrmation to eveyone.. If a conversation turns that direction, I have no problem telling anyone, though. Oh, and I never talk to patients about these things (religion OR politics). To me, that is inappropriate. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago But to the point with, were you ever in a Foxhole, better known since the seventies as a DFP (Defensive fighting position), or in a war at all in your military time. There are many troops that are in during wartime, yet do not serve in the actual war itself. I'm in flight nursing in the US Air Force now with several tours behind me in the two fights we have on the burner now and served in the US Army Infantry before that during desert storm. So besides saying God speed to you Sir and praying for you I'll repeat the Question that was implyed by 'Anonymous' writing - "There are no atheists in foxholes." Either way God bless you too and I hope your day goes well (no hate intended). Amen Anonymous says ...

| Posted almost 4 years ago I read the Francis Collins book and a great number of shorts from Einstein's ethics works and I track that way as well. These are some smart people that realize that they are not smarter than God. Collins kept very low key on his being a Christian while heading the Gernome Project to side step the hate mail types. I think Collins realized that those that are not with God need more prayers not more hate, but at the same time he knew not to stir the coals from the lake. In our end here it all comes down to you either are or are not. God speed to you - Tim

So much anger.... have you looked into therapy? If you get this upset over a forum on the net... something that you could easily have avoided by NOT looking at a poll asking about something you are obviously NOT... I am curious how you handle things you do agree with in real life.
As for taking me down a notch.... methinks you think a bit too much of yourself. |
