Why does something have to have had a hand in it?   Why does there have to be a creator?  Who made god?

Just think of it this way, what if nobody believes in God?! What do you think is going to happen in this world, when everyone else thinks that we just live and die after without any consequences, whatever we want to do is just up to us, just like that?! No regard for what is wrong and what is right, for when we live and die after, thats just it.?! Believing in God means believing that whatever we have made ourselves in this life, there is always a judgement day, the time when we wll be judged according to the way on  how we lived our life in this world.

I am not generalizing...but could probably happen if we all dont believe in God...

If your motivation for being moral is the fear of eternal damnation.. I actually do feel sorry for you.

Atheism merely means you do not believe in the existence of any gods, right?! Atheists can be good or bad, just like anyone else.

But what i am referring to is those people who doesnt believe in God and used this eventually to do wrong to others, because they are not scared of the "eternal condemnation" therefore they lack the ability to think good and do good. That's the scary part...

This is so simple....be an Athiest....you reject the Gift of Eternal Life with God after you die as a human. Why do you think we get 70 or so years to live here. Your belief system or the lack there of, is reminiscent of your body.....flawed at best. This life and what you DO or don't DO here, is relevant to where you spend your Eternal Life. It makes no differance whether you like that or not, whether you wish to beleive it ot not, it's your choice though. I'd really think about that one , if I were you!!!

I think god is a myth and I do not have a problem acting in a moral and ethical manner.....

 

Interesting how people defend being an atheist. My father was an atheist. I remember him on his death bed saying he had no will to live.. He was a millionare moneywise, a success in real estate, an Attorney by trade, but had a stroke and could not use his right arm (couldn't paint anymore).. his children didn't know how to relate to him because he could never show love. He always preached how being an atheist was right, but he died in shame. I prayed for him as much as I could.. It was very sad. The truth be known, many atheists fight tooth and nail to deny there is a power greater than them..


Life goes on, but death and taxes claims us all. Just depends if you look forward to something better in a spiritual afterlife.. Faith is so difficult for many intellectuals.. it's almost like they feel smarter or superior to God..

The religious people's posting on here are exactly why I am (although not atheist) DEFINATELY NOT CHRISTIAN!

"read the bible its all in there"?!?!?!? Are you kidding me? you are trying to convince people that consider it no more than toilet-time entertainment, that it will anwser all of their questions in life? really?

Because I am not a christian, that makes me immmoral? Morals are the conforming to standards of what is right or just in behavior. If I dont follow the bible, then how do I know the standards? Well, how about good parenting, conscience, natural concern for others? Funny thing about christians is that the standards are spelled out for them and they STILL choose to disobey them.  More religious people are guilty of these things than atheists. Ever heard of an atheist war? Not me, but I have heard of many many religious wars.

I would rather be a moral being because it is right and would prefer to be treated the same way, than because Im afraid of something that may never come to pass.

I am quite capable of showing love. My children and husband and I probably have a better relationship than those that run off with someone from the church, or abuse their children because god tells them to in the bible.

Faith is not difficult, it is quite simple actually. "Faith is so difficult for many intellectuals", why, thank you. I would rather be intellectual than naive.

"Where did all those living things come from?" How about the way it has been PROVEN over and over....
