It isn't scary, it is just a fact of life and death....death being the end of everything. |

Yes we are all imperfect, but we are not all bad. The concept of original sin is a stupid one. Why is everyone bad because Adam ate an apple? That is like saying you are a murderer because your brother murdered someone. Another thing, the term "bad" has different meanings to everyone. I can believe that there was a man named jesus who died....but not who rose again.... It has never happened and never will. As for him paying for our sins, well I wasn't around then so I had no sins, and even if I was around, I would never have asked him to do anything like that. I take responsibility for everything I do, I do not put the blame on religion, or a god or jesus. |

Of course god doesn't send you to hell, because there is no god. I can not see where I am headed to hell (no such place) on my own. I am an ethical person, never do anything bad, honest, caring and think of others. I am not a bad person at all. I just do not believe in ghosts or the supernatural. Oh and by the way, everyone refers to god as a he. If there was one, why couldn't it be a she? |

Yes, the end of your life here on earth, but thou shalth not forget, that whatever you have done in this life, there is an equivalemt punishment or reward from God...the worst part is that if you did not believe in him is kinda scary that yours might be doubled... |

Yes, the end of my life on earth........which is the very end of life. Double the punishment???? Well twice nothing is still nothing. |

Wow that's great feel sorry for the person that says you get double of nothing, when the punishment and the Great White throne judgement occurs you will never forget these statements made. Woo, glad I am not in your shoes, but have a happy life and if these earthly things were all I had to enjoy for all eternity, that would be pretty crappy. Just born to die and work to live, not much of a life, eh? |

I have also had a happy life, I enjoyed my life, I love my work, I do not look at it as work to live. I am not afraid of god like most christians are. His or her brand of fire and brimstone and punishment for so called sins does not worry me. |

If the judgement day comes and this world is over, and when lots of souls are suffering in Hell, even if you wish to change your beliefs about Him would be all too late, i wish you reconsider, I am the one who feels bad for all of you people who not only believe in God but has the nerve to INSULT HIM. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Hah, this is a clear form of blasphemy! I rarely post in the forum, but things like these, I cannot tolerate them anymore. I’m not trying to be preachy but I will not just sit here at the corner and say nothing at all if you guys speak against our God. “Thou shall not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain. (Exodus 20:7 KJV) Isaiah 45:9 “Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, 'What are you making?' Does your work say, 'He has no hands'? EZEKIEL 13 You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it. ~Though, we shouldn’t be surprised. These things will happen in the last days (and blasphemy is obviously done even on this site!) Godlessness in the Last Days 2 Timothy 3 1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. 6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone. ~God is still a God of mercy and love… We still have a time to repent and ask for forgiveness. (While it’s not yet too late.) |

Perfect; I love it, and it's true. Religion is brainwashing and cult-ism at its finest. What's the first thing Christians did in a non-Christian country? Build a church, and build a school--to brainwash the natives.
I believe in a higher power, but I do not believe the claptrap in the Bible. Where is the ark of the covenant? Where is Noah's ark? Where is all this myriad 'proof' that Christians point to? I believe that "God' is more alien than a benevolent, smiling caucasian floating about. |

How can you insult someone who does not exist? That would be like saying mickey mouse is an idiot to insult him. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Anonymous says ... ....~God is still a God of mercy and love… We still have a time to repent and ask for forgiveness. (While it’s not yet too late.) God is a god of mercy? That is a laugh. What about the 1 year old boy, who was baptised into a cult (opps I mean religion), who dies of cancer. He had no chance to have "sinned", he is too young. Is that really a god's idea of mercy? The child suffers, the parents suffer. And do not tell me that child had free will choice. give me a break, in the bible god caused a lot of suffering and did things that in this day and age would have gotten him arrested and executed. (Like sacrificing his son). Lets face it, if there is a god, he is not one of mercy, he is a mean SOB. Do not feel sorry for me or people like me. If you want to believe in god, then do so. But do not try to convert people who do not. We can think for ourselfs and not believe in ghosts or the supernatural. |

Noone is asking you to believe. God isn't merciful for the boy who died. He doesn't have to make choices in life. The inheritance of CA cells from his parents weren't the baby's choice either. Some people should not pro-create that have problems. Everything is done for a reason. Why do you athiest take everything so personal? Is the holy spirit pricking your concious? |

| Posted over 3 years ago Is that why so many crimes are committed on humanity, animals, and natures because of the lack of spiritual being and sensibility and the lack of Faith in God? Is is why some people doesn't care if they are hurting others? |

I am assuming you are a feminist, but I will answer your question anyway. The man is the one who gives forth the life force, while the woman is the one who receives this force and brings it to fruition. The same applies to G-d. G-d gives forth the life force for humans to live. Humans then recieve this potential life force, and live their lives to the best of their ability to bring this potential to fruition. This is the reason G-d is referred to in the masculine. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Religion has a place in society.... if the fear of burning in hell is what keeps people from doing evil things.. by all means religion should be allowed. For people who act on a secular moral code... religion is not needed. If it takes fear to keep people civil...god bless religion... for those who are acting good for the sake of being good... and are not motivated by hell and damnation.... they are more thoughtful human beingings exsisting on a much higher moral level.... but god is a myth.. like zeus, zoroaster, ra.. etc etc.
Religion is truly the opiate of the masses.. and i am glad is excerts some mind control over the not so intelligent and insightful among us. |

Rather than hate you I will pray for you as you certainly need help. There are many questions that the smartest of men and women on this earth cannot and have not been able to answer, and with your statement you seem to think you have the answers to all. You find the cure for all cancers or keep world peace with all and then maybe I might think your even a small part as wise as God with a capital G. Until then go take another drag of that joint your smoking and read some more Nietzsche (I read most of his stuff other than 'Thus spake Zarthrustra' and explored both sides of the arguement as well). Anyways, I'll not argue with a fool for after you argue long enough with them you look like a fool too. God speed and Cheers - Tim, R.N. |

Please expound on how you came to the conclusion I smoke pot?..Does everyone you disagree with abuse drugs.. in your mind? I have a passing familiarity with Nietzsche... he is a bit obtuse at times...I suggest you try others , such as Ayn Rand, Bertrand Russell, George Santayana, Arthur Shopenhauer... and my personal favorite,, David Hume. Again.. I act in a moral way, not out of fear of hell... but becuase it is the right and good thing to do. |

| Posted over 3 years ago A lot of posters are confusing belief in 1. A PERSONAL God who watches over us - the God of organized religion, with belief in 2. God, an unknowable entity that created the known universe. As far as eduication goes (as brought up earlier), I probably I have more education than almost anyone here, and I definitely believe in God (my second definition above). |
