Returning back to school for my bachelors.  Just when I think I this is THE END...no more school then I'm back again.  Humor me...what are your top fears of returning back to school.

My Fears

-Having so much information stuffed in my brain all at one time to the point that I literally feel like my brain is fried eggs.

-Trying to help out a nursing buddy take out dentures from an old lady only to have it fly 10 feet across the room.  Having something like that happen again.

Can you folks think of more?

At the age of 53 I am doing the same thing, not sure why!

My fears

--not finishing before time to retire

--not being able to juggle school, work and home as well as I did before.

--not being able to absorb the new information as well as I did before.

That it will be a rehash of the same old same old that was covered in LPN school then RN school (ASN). I do not want to pay for more of the same crap that I have covered twice already. I get it with the Care Plans and I dont want to ever have to do another one of those things...

The down side is the officious and uber maternalistic nursing instructors....

Old saying;

Those who can...... DO

Those who can't....TEACH

Those who can't teach... TEACH NURSING.

       Do it as there are much worse things than nursing school.  I tried to think of it like watching the discover channel and had a lot of fun.  Don't worry as it is only nursing, not rocket science.  Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Boy do I understand the too full brain! And the rehash of old info. Instead of going back for BSN and MSN, I decided to go for BS and MS in Psych instead!  I couldn't deal with all of that again. To make matters worse I'm a diploma grad, so it would feel like a total redo.

I started my BSN three months ago and am LOVING it! The program is designed so there is no repeat of information, and you don't feel like your brain is being overloaded. The instructors are wonderful and very personable at my small university. The clinicals are focused on things like leadership and management, not working with a patient's dentures. I'm so encouraged that I plan on going on to earn my MSN in an advanced practice specialty. I say go for it!
