Posted over 3 years ago Any nurses on here have a Concealed Carry Weapon ( CCW) permit? If so, what do you carry. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Aww... I thought at LEAST some of the uberpatriotic right wing fundies would at least excesize the right to keep and bear arms...in public..... I do know that the right wing whackos are stockpiling ammo in preparation for the president doing something like outlawing guns and sending the black helos out to arrest all those who oppose universal health care .
My cost of 9mm and 5.56 NATO in 1000 round lots has skyrocketed..
OK I will start.....In summer I carry a Walther PPK/S in .380 Auto... stainless so I dont worry about corrosion from perspiration..
In winter I carry a Glock Model 19 9mm parabellum.. more clothes to conceal it.

| Posted over 3 years ago Very Very nice...
Why .40 cal? It is expensive to shoot. |
|

| Posted over 3 years ago I dont plan on shooting it unless necessary. 1 shot is all I need. I figure, why have to take more than one shot with a smaller cal when I can do 3X the damage with my one well placed shot. I use a smaller cal at the range. |

| Posted over 3 years ago I have to admit, I thought this was a farce at first but now I'm in stitches just thinking of myself as carrying as a nurse. LOL Although - I can see the logic behind it. I was raised in a family that taught guns are to be feared, they are taboo - keep away - blah blah blah. Then I married into a family of avid hunters/gun collectors. Talk about culture shock. My views have changed. I'm not quite the right wing whacko that you refer to If you want to educate yourself on the proper use and safety not only of the gun itself but also in defending the gun should anyone try to relieve you of it, then by all means - please do so ------ and I might ask you to walk me to my car.

| Posted over 3 years ago When I'm in a State for which I have a permit or license (Not the People's Republic of NJ), both a Colt .380 and a S&W 2" barrel revolver (yes, a wheel gun). When I had a NJ permit, just the Smith (1974-76). |

| Posted over 3 years ago You cannot carry a gun into a hospital in the state of Texas whether you have a concealed carry permit or not. Only authorized peace officers can carry weapons in hospitals. |

Nothing at all wrong with a wheel gun.. if your life depends on the gun going off... no jams.. misfeed etc etc.... a wheel gun is where it's at.. My wife carried a S&W lightweight hammerless in .38 S&W |

| Posted over 3 years ago Yep. This .44 Special is a 5 shot wheel gun. It will put somebody down without going through them. A .22 will go through somebody before it does. I had an automatic get slow up in Montana at 15 below zero but a wheel gun never did. I carried a Ruger GP100 after a bear relocation expert told me they all used them in preference to a .44 Mag. Seems those who actually faced charging grizzlies found it better to put a bunch of .357 slugs in them rather than try to calm the recoil of a .44 Mag and only get 1 or 2 into them. The bears never stated a preference of one over the other. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Watch what you post about your guns, you are going to be taxed $50/gun and they are going to start innocent people gun confiscation. Its a sad world we live in. I think I like my guns more than money, they will be coming in handy soon. |

I see you have imbibed of the NRA Kool-Aid. Do you have black heliocopters overflying your compund? That is paranoid ranting. |

| Posted over 3 years ago No Kool-Aid there - it is true that a bill along those lines was introduced - So far not much support for it. I suppose registration of all firearms could lay the groundwork for some future administration to confiscate them, even if that's not the idea at present - how do we know what kind of government we will have 10, 20, 50 years from now (shudder)? |

| Posted over 3 years ago Idiotic lawmakers intruduce moronic bills all the time. It is simply posturing.... as for gun registration... I collect a specific type of firearm that are not only registered with the BATFE.... I submitted fingerprints and had a background check in order to purchase EACH of them and pay a hefty tax of 200 dollars on each one I buy...
Am I worried about confiscation? Nope... am I worried about registration??? Nope.. as a matter of fact with the strict rules on ownership on this class of weapon.... there has been only ONE CRIME commited with one of these types of firearms since the inception of the NFA in 1934.
And trust me.. these weapons are far more destructive than any hunting weapon.
I am a well armed liberal. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Oh, I agree - lawmakers introduce anything to suck up to a part of their constituency... Worried about registration & confiscation - sure, in the future - I think anything is possible! But I don't think it will be tried soon, even tho some would like to. And to all who happen to be reading this, ALL FIREARMS IN MY RESIDENCE AND PROPERTY HAVE BEEN LEGALLY PURCHASED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS APPLICABLE AT THE TIME IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS.... REALLY.... HONEST.... YOU CAN TRUST ME (I'm a lawyer). |
