I am sorry, but I haven't been as active on this site as I was when I first started. We had issues with my son that was back from Iraq, and PTSD. I have started full swing teaching the low glycemic classes. These are going very well. I have a re-entry class this Tuesday, and I start teaching in a local town at the natural health clinic on September 14th.  I am also working on a powerpoint presentation and plan to start weekly webinar classes in October. So, on top of working in the Oncology unit on the weekends, my wellness/prevention business is taking off. I am really very excited about this. It has been my dream and intention for many years to spearhead wellness in our area.

There was another clinical trial just released on the benefits of a low glycemic lifestyle.  So, I feel like what I am promoting is a very healthy, balanced lifestyle that can be taught to everyone, even children. It isn't a fad.  Just healthy eating.  This morning, I had a conversation with a physician that is very interested in what I am doing. This program isn't limited to nurses teaching it, however, if we are role models for health, this is a very great place for nurses to start if they want to share wellness with the community.   I believe I am finding my niche and that brings much peace to me.  Imagine, being able to help people find ways to bring wellness into their lives instead of taking care of them when it may be too late.

My friends and I that are working on this project together are also talking about having stress manangement, self-care events. Wellness spas are another area I am looking into.  Such fun. So many choices.  I love that I do have choices.
