I've been out skydiving a couple dozen times, but not in the past 7 years, although I really want to again.  It is the freefalling part I like so just parachuting doen't appeal to me.  I fast roped while in the military (no D ring hook up) and that was fun also more that just repelling.  I got banned for a year from skydiving in Texas years back for pulling way below the hard-deck (2,000 feet) several times with my love of the falling part.  I haven't been out since my wife and I had our first kid.  I had a special T-Shirt made for me back then: "The Divers Triad - Sky, S.C.U.B.A., and Muff" in a triangle figure on the back and front (a lot of fun up and downs they were).

I've always wanted to but I always had something else I needed to spend the money on.

Best jump I ever made was out of the air-stair on a B727 Up in Sandwich Illinois.

I liked RW more than solo free fall... But, CRW scared the crap out of me.

Were equipped with  an automatic opener? And at what alt did your club set them for? At what alt did you pull that upset the zone safety officer?

It has been a while Sevo, but I'd say I'm pretty sure the auto is hardset to 700 feet and my pulls were around a 1000 or more (the hard deck was 2000 they like >2400 feet pulls with the 300 foot inflation formula), but the last gig really pissed them off.  I know better, but I like to fall and the last time their reaction was priceless; they have insurrance people they have to make happy too so I understand.  I always wanted to do that bridge jump in West Virginia sometime; just through your rig out while your running of the plank.  I had a buddy a few Air Force units back for me that was a Pararesue Jumper with his HALO and HAHO qual..  He retired a few years back while he seemed to be in great shape, but he had to get a CABG x3 a half year back.  The unit we were in used to 'Fast Rope' for medic insertions a lot and he was the best, no fear.  A lot of young kids have that sticker on the back of their cars, but this guy really had no fear, no shit.  I wish I could jump that high with O2 and just fall for 20 or 30 thousand feet; you just got to wear some warm underware as it is cold up there.
