I just completed my CPNE for excelsior and am now a Graduate Nurse. I would like to wear my pin. Do I have to wait until my boards are completed to do so?

This is cross posted in another topic area but I figured this area was more appropriate.

Thanks for your help,

Dana

You can wear it right now, and your cap if you have one.  The pin is a symbol of graduating nursing school, not licensure.  You cannot use the initials RN until you pass boards, but may use GN if you have applied for a temporary license while waiting Boards.

I think that not all states have the GN desination.  In Ohio Nursing school is of no utility until you pass your boards.
