morticians in training

Posted about 1 month ago I just wanted to know. What kind of training do morticians undergo? And do they have to be board certified to provide this service to the public? I have a reason for asking these questions, because in my last job I have had some incidents that happened involving deceased patients and the pickup service the mortuary provides. I know the subject of death is taboo, but there are some humorous things that happen even after death.... |

| Posted about 1 month ago This is probably the wrong site to ask that question on. All states have regulations on any professional practice involving humans and their bodies. Thank God. Otherwise Ed the Handyman would be embalming somebody in his garage after he got off from his regular day job. I am quite sure there are mortuary schools in every region that if one attended and passed would make them eligible to meet the state's requirements as a mortician. Good luck in that field. I was an ambulance man in the mid-70's (EMT-A). The few times we had to haul a body that was a decomp because the Gold Star ambulance was on a long trip made me glad I never considered doing funerary work. You can't air the rig out enough after that. Whew. |
