Posted over 3 years ago I work in a prison and would have thought there would be more male nurses. There were two besides me, and now they have both left to pursue other avenues in nursing. The female nurses are crazy..drama, playing up to the prison officers, back stabbing, caddiness sexual suggestiveness, getting involved with married officers on a sexual level. When women are going into nursing school i think a psycholgical battery of tests should be given to make sure they are emotionally/ mentally stable. Alof of them dont seem to be. It really demeans this profession setting it way back to have such trashy people entering into it. The vulgarity they spout would make a long shoreman blush..and in front of the inmates too, as if the inmates dont deserve to be cared for by professionals just as would be expected ouside of a prison setting. Cant imagine having a nurse dropping F bombs at my doctors office in front of me.For all you trashy nurses..and you surely know who you are..please clean it up. Try to emulate the NP's or Doctors as best you can in your professional conduct. No they arent perfect but i have rarely seen them behave on such a low level on the job like many of the RN and LPN, especially the women nurse.

Posted over 3 years ago Maybe if you cared more about yourself and respected yourself it would spread and then the job wouldnt be so bad. Sometimes look inside yourself instead of blaming other people for hating your job. Id much rather work with male nurses anytime. The women are out of theri minds with hormonal craziness

Posted over 3 years ago I am 35 years old and I started my adventure at age 30 with pre-nursing classes. I started at ground zero and worked my way to a BSN. IT's amazing as to the different avenues a nurse can take! I am now unemployed which really stinks; but I know that sometime soon I will have a job again. I hated hospital nursing; the politics; the drama of an all female staff; the backstabbing; the gossip.....I have learned from that; and I plan to stay away from all of that and focus on me and my family. With that said; I would do it all over again. I would do school; and the wait lists; and just being a Nurse is honorable.....I just wish other Nurses would make it honorable....Some are too negative....so stay away from all of that; and make it a positive to be a Nurse. That's what I am trying to do. I am honored to be a Nurse! And I worked REALLY HARD for it!!!

Posted 8 months ago My understanding is that nursing is one of the most hated professions amongst both non-nurses and by actual nurses. Gosh, I wonder why. Also, to all the male nurses out there who like to claim female nurses are somehow crazier than a male nurse, you really are delusional and refuse to believe there are any differences in the way male nurses and female nurses are treated. You can deny it all you want....I do agree it can be hard to work with all women. It is also hard to work with all men. A good mix of people is what is needed in every profession. Also, a lot of men don't want to do any of the dirty work and only want to do the exciting stuff . You bloody well know what I am talking about. Men are WAY more likely to overlook details and cannot multi-task, since we are operating on stereotypes I have been a nurse for 15 years, let me tell you getting treated like an impecile on the daily gets old. I work hard at my job and i am still disrespected. please do not tell me it is my attitude. I try so very hard to give people respect and the best care. Patients often think they have a right to treat you like dirt. Please do not tell me this is my fault. I am educated and observant. We are the ones who advocate for our patients and a lot goes on behind the scenes that you all do not know about. A good chunk of the time patients act like they have 2 broken arms and 2 broken legs and refuse to do the work of getting better and blame you for it. I do believe this is God's work just like teaching which is why i still do it. It most certainly not for the paycheck or th hours or the other baloney. I can get out anytime. speaking the truth does not make me less of a good nurse.
