Posted over 3 years ago So, Roman Polanski was caught in Switzerland and being held for possible extridition to the US for a crime he commited 32 years ago. What does everyone think? I'm personally appaled that some people think he should be let go. He basically has thumbed his nose at the US for years over this crime. The girl was 13 years old and was statutorily raped. I was 13 at or about the same time, and can't even imagine how horrible this must have been for the then 13 year old girl. If nothing eles, I imagine if this would have been my daughter how sickening it must have been for her parents. Although the victim is wishing no ill will to come to Mr. Polanski, the bottom line is he commited a crime, for which any other average citizen would have been locked up for. This goes back to celebreties thinking they are above the law, and can do as they please. Ridiculous!

| Posted over 3 years ago Bravo, and I'm with you as I've been following this for many many years. I just always will wonder what he paid the girl, now a grown woman, to steer her to his camp years after the crime.

| Posted over 3 years ago Ya know Tim , I didn't even consider that, but seeing how arrogant Polanski seems to be, I would not be surprised if she was paid off. Dennis Miller was on O'Reilly last night and said that if anyone read the trial transcripts, they would not want to let this slimeball go free. Miller sais he met Polanski years ago and found him to be very charming, which is why he thinks people want to overlook this. He said he read the trial transcripts after he met Polanski and he was disgusted. Claire Kruszka |

| Posted over 3 years ago The girl's family and lawyers did make a deal with Polanski. I just would like to know the details of it; the written ones and the side stuff, but that will never be made public especially the side items.
Cheers - Tim, R.N. |

| Posted over 3 years ago He should pay for this crime. Period. Even though the survivor is now a grown woman, the damage done is irreversible, she will never be the same. No payoff in the world is worth overlooking the crime of rape against a child, and I cannot understand any human being thinking that he should be given some kind of pardon. The people who support him are evidently people who were never violated so horribly as children. ~ Laugh as much as you breath and love as long as you live ~ |

| Posted over 3 years ago As far as I am concerned, Roman Polanski commited statutory rape. Funny how he has seemed to have skated around extradition to the US for this heinous crime for so long. Oh, I'm sure the girl and her family were paid off, but still, statutory rape is a crime. Let the S.O.B. rot in jail for all I care. Did he pay for this woman's therapy as she was growing up? I don't understand anyone or any country standing behind him....... LOL on the priest and the boy comment... too funny |
