Posted over 3 years ago Just recently, there was a video featuring school children in New Jersey singing the praises of President Obama. The school teachers who lead the song defended themselves by saying it was Black History month and they were simply having the children celebrate it by singing the song. Here's the thing. There are many Black heros the children could be singing about rather than the President. Martin Luther King, Coretta Scott King, Mahalia Jackson, are just a few names that come to mind. I find it disturbing that such a song is being allowed in Public Schools. Never in the history of this country has any school sung the praises of a President in office. There would have been outrage. Where is the outrage? This is why people bash this current President. He's treated as if he's above all the rules that we once would have held over any of our former Presidents heads. Can you imagine children singing the praises of even Bill Clinton, or George Bush? Claire Kruszka |

| Posted over 3 years ago There has been a ton of outrage here in this part of Texas. This is going back to Hitler's day when they sang the praises to them. While most schools across the country were forced to watch his address to the kids, Thank GOD, they boycotted it at our school district. When he was being innagurated, it was your choice whether or not the students attended, without penalty. They never made us watch it, so why should my children??? This is absolutely horrific. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Sorry but the blame for this is totally on the teachers. In fact, having taught high school for 3 years here in Texas, I can imagine that the principal had no idea this was going to happen. And those teachers have probably heard no end of it. It's ridiculous that anyone would be singing praise about any human being other than One. |

| Posted over 3 years ago just want to say that many cultures sing about things they experience. its not all that uncommon unless of course you are white protestant and born here in the usa. i'm just sayin sometimes people do things that others do not understand. i agree that this cannot go along without someone saying yes sing all you want at school but thats AFTER reciting the pledge of allegiance !!it has to be balanced this is our country we love it honor it by remembering ALL of its history!! but you have to start somewhere and obviously these kids have started. i just hope that they stay in school not get pregnant or hooked on drugs! |

| Posted over 3 years ago I find this whole "I pledge my service to Barack Obama" thing quite scary. I'm waiting for the day my kids come home and tell me they had to sing a song about him. So the school says they did this to celebrate black history month? I doubt it. I agree with Claire that there are many many many black heroes in history that have done far more to earn recognition that Obama. Furthermore, I do not understand why everyone is so stuck on his color. The president is BI-RACIAL!! He is a product of a black man and WHITE woman, but regardless, why does it matter? If he were white would school children still be taught to chant about him and pledge their allegiance to him? I find it frightening to think that he was elected based soley on his race, but unfortunately I think that is exactly what happened. The whole thing is sickening, and I fear a great deal for the future of our country under his direction. Obama has become a bit of a joke to me. He is more of a celebrity than a president. Just today I saw an ad he made promoting the George Lopez show, and I was thinking, is this all he has to do, make tv ads for celebrities and jet set over seas in order to try to get the olympics in Chicago? Our country is in a severe state and I get the feeling he doesn't take this office seriously. ~ Laugh as much as you breath and love as long as you live ~ |

| Posted over 3 years ago When I enlisted I swore an oath stating my fidelity to THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA......
My subsequent oath of office to my comission did not include those words.
If I were to enlist TODAY I would swear that same oath.....
You really hate this guy don't you? |

| Posted over 3 years ago Bravo. I've noticed that a lot on here and in our country in general. The only service is lip service for the majority. Then they bitch about paying taxes! |

These are not 18 yr old recruits for the military as their occupation! Im happy you would swear that same oath, for our soldiers they are of legal age or if not, have a parent sign consent. I dont hate the guy................I cant stand him, dislike him AND his wife, and I have NO respect for him. If I had kids this age singing this CRAP, Id pitch a fit, then find out what kind of lawyer could wreak havoc with the school board at my expense. We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted over 3 years ago Wow! That is plain scary! And plain silly. That old gal starts speaking "in tongues". A shrink could have a hay day in that loonie bin. And what do you mean by "possibly" the worst prez we ever had. I'll guarantee you history will record him as a loser. Crashing economy, starts 2 wars he can't even finish and leave us broke, laughs at the Constitution and claims it doesn't apply to the Executive branch of our government. What a moron. |

Looking at the aircraft and the headphones worn by the pilot... it appears to be a radial engined aircraft... I would guess the video was taken in Russia... I did not see a call letter plaque on the instrument panel... If this was the US .. that guy would never fly a plane again. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Going back a bit: Our oath of enlistement was to "...obey the orders of the President...." and officers appointed over me (I mean, he IS the Commander-in-Chief) not "stating fidelity" to him. And ckruszka got the point: The "Jesus camp" thing is private, like in your private home. The school is a government run institution. |
