| Posted over 3 years ago The answer is yes. You can get your license by endorment. Contact the board of nursing for the state of California and let them know that you already have a license from Hawaii, but would also like to practice as an R.N. in California. Just to let you know I'm a C.N.A. that with the following : CA, CT, HI, OK, and two pending/one from NY, the other from PA. All by endorment and proof that I've worked at least 8 hours within the last two years as a C.N.A. In my case I've worked for the past 20 plus years. Again check with the board to be sure if you can do so since there is a difference between the two, but I'm pretty sure you can do it. Good Luck! NursingBear56
