Posted over 5 years ago Hi, I'm new! I'm 45 and finished, Psych, Soc, Eng Comp 1, Micro Comp, and this semester doing Accelerated Beg Alg 1&2 with Biology. I plan on finishing quite a few classes through the summer to fall. Can I apply for Nursing School now for Next Fall? Or, should I continue to take more Pre reqs at the Community college for a while? |

| Posted over 5 years ago Call the College and find out what the wait list is. Some of them are up to 2 years, some run on a lottery system. |

Pending grades from prereq classes do not count and deadlines are made clear. According to the nursing administrator at my particular local CC, students are on a lottery system - meaning the most qualified students are picked at random, preferably the ones who have completed the most credits even after meeting all of the prerequisites for the nursing program. A student can complete all of the prereqs with the desired grades to become eligible for the nursing program; however, there may still be general ed courses that may need to be completed. From what I gather, a student must be as done as he/she can get. I agree with 'cmckeag' - call your local CC. Things may be different where you're located. |
