Hi, I'm new! I'm 45 and finished, Psych, Soc, Eng Comp 1, Micro Comp, and this semester doing Accelerated Beg Alg 1&2 with Biology. I plan on finishing quite a few classes through the summer to fall. Can I apply for Nursing School now for Next Fall? Or, should I continue to take more Pre reqs at the Community college for a while?

Call the College and find out what the wait list is. Some of them are up to 2 years, some run on a lottery system.

Hello. At my local CC (Sacramento, California) a candidate cannot apply for the nursing program until his/her last grade has been posted. Pending grades from prereq classes do not count and deadlines are made clear. According to the nursing administrator at my particular local CC, students are on a lottery system - meaning the most qualified students are picked at random, preferably the ones who have completed the most credits even after meeting all of the prerequisites for the nursing program. A student can complete all of the prereqs with the desired grades to become eligible for the nursing program; however, there may still be general ed courses that may need to be completed. From what I gather, a student must be as done as he/she can get. I agree with 'cmckeag' - call your local CC. Things may be different where you're located.
