Posted 16 days ago I have never been to New York, never had a desire to do so until the introduction of the USS New York. Making some of that massive ship from the World Trade Centers steel was extrememly emotional. I was glad to see that many of the victems families were able to tour it for its unveiling. I heard it was heading to Virginia after leaving New York. My best to our sailors and soldiers, God Bless! We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted 16 days ago Just be careful about sounding like an average newsperson out there with the soldier and salor combo mistake. That is less than half the story in the military. Here I'll list them for you: Soldiers - U.S. Army (the tomb of the unkown soldier honors them only), Salors - U.S. Navy, Airmen - U.S. Air Force, Coasties - U.S. Coast Guard (there a tough bunch when you get to know them),and last but not least the Marines - U.S. Marine Corps. (they are under the department of the Navy, but don't call them salors please. Hands down the overal toughest of the armed forces in a general sense). The U.S. Navy would be running the U.S.S. New York with a number of Marines provinding duties as well on ship. The Media insults us every day to the point that its common place now.
Cheers, just setting it straight - Tim, R.N. also Master Sgt U.S. Air Force and prior U.S. Army as well |
