Why is the most popular thing here in NL is the games?! Considering so many of the past members have been complaining about this! Gosh, make a new topic so it doesn't get so boring! I see many old members are slowly disappearing from NL, aside from being boring, some posters are really mean, they cannot comment without being mean to others. I love NL and wish i could see the people i have been friends in here before...

Because these days the games are the only place you don't get criticized or slammed. Well, except by some whose lives are so empty they get off making fun of the games, or posting sarcastic game entries.

I too have friends who have left because of the nastiness. Sad, just sad.

And so maybe we get a clue as to why nurses are often viewed with disdain by other medical professionals

Well what do you know???!!  You are nothing compared to Filipino Nurses, I am so 100% sure of that, many can attest to that honey!

Whoever you are, shame on you! You are so damn rude, where's your education?! Is that what you are proud of?!

Tsk,tsk, poor  you get a life!  You may know everything about nursing but your character sucks!

The games... as a rule .. are moronic... much like the nurses that ask to be my freind regardless of the times I deny the request.. I have nothing at all in common with most of the posters on this net.. especially the ubergamers.

Oh yeah, i pity those who made the mistake of inviting you,  you can never be  a friend, ohhhh...i guess you dont have a friend!

What have we done wrong to some of you guys to deserve this insult?!

I'd rather play games than insulting people, that kind of character  is a clear sign of insecurities and lack of education!

Gosh what kind of professionals are you, you dont deserve your title!

This should not be an area even (or especially) anonymously to insult any group. I have the guts to do so in the open. All it gets you is a threatening letter to back off. I have a collection of them. But I go after individuals who have said something to, or about, me.

I said it before and will say it again. I have worked with many Filipino nurses in 7 states in 30 years. As a rule they are highly educated and driven to succeed. They as a rule give great patient care, know the meds and I feel confident working with them. As a rule. There are individual differences always.

The complaints I have heard? They hang around with each other and speak their native language when they eat lunch or have a break. Whoopie. The culture they come from is so different than the one[s] in the US. Who can blame them for that? Lay off the Filipinos. And all other racial or ethnic groups. Attack the issues. Help us move ahead as a society and country Or at least stay out of the way while the rest of us do.

So, what then to you is a professional, come on spill it out?! You're just being hypocrite and very shallow, have you asked yourself maybe you're kind is one of the reason some young nurses are turning their backs on this profession because they couldn't stand the hypocrisy! you are vomitting too much of it!

Im loosing my composure, i forgot, i should not stoop down on your level, you are an intelligent person i guess but you use that in a wrong way, what a shame!  I pity you!

It is better to say nothing  at all if you can't say something nice.

Just shut your mouth and  do your thing!

( Gosh, i am just wondering where are the nice people i've met in NL before?! )

Apparently, a member here likes to insult and belittle you.

Taking offense is natural, and so is fighting back. But your responses seem to encourage this person and arm him with more effrontery.

Use this member's ill will to serve you; let it make you smarter; let it make you stronger.

Ask yourself, for instance, "What's going on with this member?" You might decide the member's a child, or possibly emotionally disturbed, or possibly harboring a personality disorder.

It's already clear the member is self-destructive. No one helps himself in life by antagonizing others.

What generally happens to self-destructive people? My guess is that few of them win the lottery and live happily ever after.

Interesting that you identify this attacker as "him". Reason[s]?

Hiding under an anonymous name gives anyone the balls to say whatever they want, my feeling is that people aren't as mean if they have their real name or real pic beside what they say.

They should change the name of this link  to NASTYLINK,  a  NursingLink for  the nasty nurses who love to play mindless games who don't make a difference, and create a new NursingLInk for the nice nurses , and save their brains from being washed by all these non-nursing games.

yeah, there is nothing racist about the word pinoy, you dont have to give us the meaning of the word, we all know that. if you are not innocent enough, you would know that the sentence is implying Filipino nurses have nothing to do but play games. it is okay, some of us do play games here, nothing wrong with that and we dont feel that it is makeing us dumb and/or worthless, but the way he/she delivered it is meant to insult Filipino nurses, its better to just play games and enjoy the company of other members than go looking for a fight, that is just sooo pathetic, i think that is just so sick! and to the one who posted that- just what is your hang ups, i am so sad for you! Make a new beginning, make friends not war! PEACE, okay?!- Lea

Everyone has a reason why they play the games. It has nothing to do with being Filipino.  I play the games and anyone that does knows that there are probably more non Filipinos playing them. I also post in other forums and most of them, especially the political ones, turn into fights. The games are nice, they are fun and everyone can play.

I also want to say that I have quite a few filipino friends on here and every single one of them are nice people. Lets put away the hatred and have fun on whatever it is you like about Nursing Link.

Thank you Lea, MrBrown and Peggy. You make a lot of sense.

There are just some people who try to make themselves feel good about themselves by "clever" insults to other people and groups.

Many of the games are just silly little ways to pass the time. You don't like them? Ignore them! Other silly meaningless things to pass the time include watching TV and playing video games. People need things like that once in awhile to get away from the stress of work, school, raising children, etc.

Insulting Filipnos is laughable. As a health care administrator, I have seen no group, as a whole, that is harder working and more cheerful in the face of adversity than Filipinos. So ignore the insult. It is far more meaningless than the games.

And by the way, hiding behind anonymity might make sense if the anonymity was complete. You are not anonymous here - only from other posters, not Nursing Link. How do you think the two points for each post are allocated? Please, no more insults, no ethnic slurs.

If everyone who complained about the games spent the same amount of time actually contributing to this community, it would be a different place. Instead of whining about something you don't even have to look at, why not actually post something of substance?
