Gitano_RN - yes I have trully taken all recommendations to heart and I appreciate all the advise and guidance you as a mentor have given.  I feel that I finally took a look outside the box instead of just trying to put together what was just on the inside (if that makes any sense).  I am looking forward to returning to college in the spring and working towards my nursing degree.

Thank You Gitano_RN - I have no doubt in my mind now that I will excel in the program.  Like the saying goes "Good things come for those who wait."  Well - I think I have waited long enough.  It is time to put my thinking cap on and jump on.  I know there are going to be ups and downs still through out my journey - but now I have more desire and passion to be a nurse.  The support that I get from my NursingLink friends - as well as my family is wonderful and helps so much.  I still have "ducks" to line up but I am working hard on it to be able to go back to school in the spring.

Hello All!!  I hope all is well.  I wanted to share with you an experience I had this over the weekend.  Over the weekend I was basically told my someone that I would never make it to nursing school let along through nursing school for the simple fact that I never finish anything that I start.  You can not imagine how hearing those words made my blood bowl.  Use to it would let hearing something like that really upset me and make me feel that the person saying it was right.  But those days are over.  Hearing those words this time only makes me want it more and makes me more determined that some how I will manage to get into nursing school.  And to all of those who think that I won't - BLOW IT OUT YOUR EAR!!!

Sandra,

There's always a first time for everything. So take the negative words and make them your jump off point to achieving your dream. Good luck to you!

I just reread my previous post - my blood must still be boiling - gosh at the typos but I am sure all of you understood the point I was getting across.

Thanks Yaz08 - negativity only makes me more determined.

Hello Everyone - I hope that all is doing well.  I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while but these last several weeks have been really hard.  I mentioned in an earlier post that my mother was ill and how helping take care of her has made me want to be a nurse more than ever.  That feeling still stands and is now even stronger.  It saddens me though to inform all of you that my mother passed away 3 weeks ago.  Dealing with her passing has been very hard for me because my mother was not only my mother - she was my best friend and my anchor.  It does comfort me to know that she is no longer suffering and is in a lot better place.  She was a strong woman and put up a long fight since her stroke in June.  There were so many close calls these last months where we had to call the family in - the Lord blessed us by letting us keep her each time - but this time He felt it was time for her to come home.  I know in the nursing field I will deal with death - and through this experience I feel that is has given me strength in doing that.
