9:24 pm Scott Brown accepted the acknowledged winner  of the new senator for Mass. formerly held by Ted Kennedy.  First Republican in 6 decades to hold   a ,,,, senate in this state.  They need to get this guy in office now, NO shenanigans.   Obama has tried to help the candidates in New Jersey, Virginia, and Mass. and look how good that help them out.    I bet they drag Brown's confirmation out 6 monthes in fear of the Obamacare not getting passed.   I hope they get caught trying if they do.    CONGRATS SENATOR BROWN!!!!!!!!   Senator Brown is Still in the Army reserves as a Lt. Col.  unless he was promoted recently.............the unit my husband was in when he retired 3 yrs ago was afiliated with Senator Brown.............this is too cool.    My husband got this fear that I would turn into the officers wife from hell and send out inviitations for expensive lawn parties!   Wait....................Tea parties!!!!!    I got my guest list paritally made out allready.

WAIT!

(crickets chirping, tumbleweeds tumbling)

Where are all our liberal / progressive friends with their opinions???

Don't you want to blame George Bush? Use ad hominem attacks?

Mock everyone who listens to Fox news? Point out that Air America is the font of sensible opinion.... OOOPS! Oh, that's right, they just went out of business!

Make fun of the Tea Psrty people, call them "teabaggers" - hahaha a sexual reference! how mature!

Maybe they're realizing that here are a heck of a lot of intelligent, honest people who disagree with them, even in liberal states such as Mass & New Jersey.

Wow...............my husband said the same thing during dinner tonight.  He just dont seem dark and sinister like you do.  Spooky... I had thought something a couple hours after I saw Senator Brown heading into all the different Senator's offices.  They will corrupt him eventually in some way.  I have absolutely no trust of politicians and most humans.   I trust my husband to an extent.   I can truly trust my dogs................Fred and Sampson.   They love me regardless of everything.  THEY are trustworthy, its humans who can be corrupt.

I was up at 3am on Wednesday morning with a migraine.  I was flipping through channels with a heating pad wrapped around my noggin, and discovered "The Red Eye".  Yup, its on Fox.  Its sort of a commentary on news issues. Its also the funniest thing Ive ever seen.  They make fun of im Kardashians butt and the fact that her football dude will marry her if he wins the superboll.  Look, if he wins................he gets the superbowl.  If he dont he can stay single and not marry Kim Kardashian..............win win issue.   I watched over and over a clip of a kitten smacken a bunny on the noggin.  It was cute and made my head feel better...............could that be a holistic medicine?  Bunny and kitty clips?  I'll buy it.  They said that the new word of the year in the urban dictionary according to the Greg.  I programmed my dvr to record it at 3am and watch it later.  Everytime they try to make fun of tea baggers it will blow up in their face.   I am begging my hubby to let me go to the tea bag thing for Harry Reids Tea Party in Vegas, I think its before the mid term election  .................no go so far, but Im beggin.  I have bookoo points for any MGM facility so dang...............I wanna use my points anyhow protest for something I believe in...............throw blackjack and roulette whining to the pitt boss that I have been gambling for 2 hrs at that table and I want comps for the buffet or at least breakfast.  Thats another win win situation..

Truly though.............this election was great but the evil empire is still  showing up for work.  I think they will still try to sneak it though when we are not focused on it.    Trust issues here.   Them old school politicians will grease him up and get him corrupt like them eventually. BTW................its 4am, had to take Fred out to tinkle and I fixed a typo, sorry if there's more.

Ok, personally as spooky as Alpha Male is, and yup I respect him...................I just find him spooky, I dont think we need to LET UP ON THE FIGHT.  Mass.  proved to the country that the people can be heard and that those corrupt turds can be voted out ..................the mid term elections will be coming up and Im saving my money and might have a yard sale so I can go  <plus play black jack and a few turns on roullet; plus I have bookoo points at MGM and Harrahs facilities.  I want to go to the teabag party before Harry Reids election.  Protest that turd and gamble................win win situation.  WE have to keep our voices heard and make it known that ANYBODY can be voted out of offfice including republicans.  Personally, I trust none of them.  OBAMA backed the Senator who ran against Brown...........lost, Obama spoke for her.  Im trying to rack my brain to backtrack to the gov. election in Virginia and New Jersey..........did Obama campaign for them too?  Seems he did so, no promises its fact.  So are upcoming Democrat folk running for election do yall think they will say if Obama offers to campaign for them, they say "Thanks but no thanks"?  I mean he's like kryptonyte, or maybe asbestos............dunno, but they are both bad.   I hope the crickets come out to play sometime.  Hey, maybe they are on vacation.  I checked there are some really good  vacation packages in Vegas, maybe they are in Vegas.

Absolutely, one victory in battle does not mean the war is over. The war will certainly go on as long as the corrupt two-party system divides us into US versus THEM.

Actually, I am not sure I have used the word neocon more than maybe twice on this forum. It is not even CLOSE to my  favorite word...The F word.

A neocon is a person who subscibes to the ideas of neoconservatism... and THAT is an intellectual and political movement in favor of political, economic, and social conservatism that arose in opposition to the perceived liberalism of the 1960s.

As for the victory in Mass. It was not hard to understand. Mass is not as heavily democratic as one would think. If i recall 50% of Mass voters identify as independents... and of the remaining 50% are divided between democrats and republicans  with a 3:1 ratio...

The republican party will eventually be marginalized. It is the party of white people for the most part. And the dems are the party of pretty much everyone else. The demographics of the country are changing and very very soon whites will be in the minority. The republican party of today will not win thoses voters..... and have probably lost my vote and money forever... because of the culture of intolerance and the embrace of the religious right.

I am willing to cede some gun rights if it means we can have equal rights for gays, safe and available abortion, reasonable drug laws, fewerimmoral wars some sort of health care for those less better off than ourselves.

Alphamale, you almost seemed human.  Thanks kelly for that slap in the face  <yall know the movie 27 dresses?  The part where the famous bridesmaid muttered 'I love you behind her boyfiends back' and her pal slapped her for a reality check.  Kelly, you're the grumpy redhead and thanks again! We all need a grumpy person who is smarter than neocons.   Geez, neocons stink.

OK   you are a nurse... right?? and you do realize that a migraine headache is a result of vasoDILITATION right?? and you realize heat DIALATES vessels, right?

YUP, but whatever works without medications helps....and can help my organs........then alternating with cold packs works well q 1 or 2 hrs.  Sometimes things work better than stuff that metabilize in the kidneys, liver, and intestines.  I had been taking enough ibuprophen to bring on a gi bleed and chose a non chemical route to comfort................besides, I dont think it was the heating pad as much as the cute bunny and kitty clips, humor that doesnt include guns is nice.  So.............Alpha male.......you need to go find a teabagger to hang with, you might cheer up from your neoconcrap dark side.  Yanno, from your picture on your page you remind me of a scruffy Alan Combs.  He was on the red eye on Thursday am.  He is also the token liberal on the network.  Hannity kicked him off Hannity and Combs but Alan is doing radio stuff.   I hope he does well, I kinda like him.   Air America recently went down in flames.   Hey, non of your newcon playpals have come out to play since Tuesday.  Weird.   Reminds me of yall goin to rob bank, and they were gonna handle the getaway car but when they hear the police come, they book and leave you holdin bags of money.  Tis sad.

I've had migraines for decades.  I always used ice, up until the last year,  I've started alternating ice with a heating vibrater on my neck.  Migraines are poorly understood.

Thanks kitty.  This is new for me.  Ive had sinus headaches like normal people for years but this is totally new as of about a month ago.  Yanno with the problem with light and puking?  Are you really a nurse too like Alphamale asked me or am I just a bimbo blonde nurse from the south who is an idiot? Just wondered.  I mean it pisses me off when people do that on NL.  Credentials:  RN x 13 yrs; ACLS x 9.5 yrs, BCLS instrutor x 11 yrs, KCI professional tier x 8 yrs, now I feel like Ive given in to the alien.   My husband bought me this thing yesterday, its a horshoe shaped vibrating thing made by the people who does shiatsu therapy.  Its wonderful. It goes around the neck and massages.   When you click the heat option it looks like 2 RED testicles rolling arround in there!  Fabulous gadget.  My husband is too good for me.  He went out for groceries at Walmart yesterday <this is normal, he wont let me go to Walmart with him and its been that way for 4.5 yrs, he's the cheapest man on the planet but he calls it conservative>.  So Ive graduated from the heating pad to the testicle boiler.   BTW, I dont think Walmart has it, he said he got it at the outlet mall.   I give this the thumbs up!

Mass election was a referendum on an independent movement in this country.  Brown did not identify himself as a Republican on literature on in public.  I particularly enjoy his naked centerfold photos and daughter who tried out for that radical liberal bastion American Idol.  Coakley was a weak candidate and an awful speaker.  See what Brown does, me I'm starting a campaign to point out every way Republicans lie to you to vote against your own best interests and those of your family.  Keep healthcare the way it is and allow insurance companies to run the costs through the roof over the next 2 years.  Continue to fight a vague war on terror wasting billions on the wrong wars, allowing corrupt paramilitary Blackwater to be the private bootjack army you all so fear Obama may create.  Keep big banks in control etc..  Corporations unregulated are bad.

By the way Franklin was not a teabagger he believed in science hence global climate change, stem cell research, environmental protections, evolution etc would have all been in his realm of belief.  Not creationism, limited science and ignorance, he was a philosopher and pragmatist and man was he a womanizer.  Not your typical teabag representative and oh by the way you called yourselves teabaggers first until you were told the sexual connotation.

Anyway, i look forward to the 2010 elections because I think there are about to be 3 and 4 parties in the mix.  The same old two don't cut it anymore.

I don't think Ben Franklin was a Teabagger (yeh I know, LOL), but I don't think anyone meant he would support all of today's "conservative" views - Just that he would support the idea of the current "Tea Parties." Those who attend or support them are not all "conservatives," as implied by RNprogressive. I support them, and some of my views are shockingly liberal! Mostly, though, Libertarian.

The idea of the tea parties is, as the original Boston Tea Party for which they were named, to throw off the yoke of oppressive, intrusive, overtaxing government. King George yesterday, Republicans and Democrats today.

And Ben? Yes, a great man of science - I'll bet he would have supported stem cell research, but as far as "not creationism?" hmmmm, I believe he stated in his letter to the President of Yale College in 1790:

"Here is my Creed: I believe in one God, Creator of the Universe. That He governs it by his Providence. That he ought to be worshipped. That the most acceptable Service we can render to him, is doing Good to his other Children."

Capt. thanks for the info on Ben i happen to think he was a great man and rn progressive you might be interested to know that usually the biggest liars are the ones who claim to "take the higher road" by that i mean they appear on the outside to be church going , god fearing and holy but on the inside they are great big fakers and cheaters!! not surprised at all the ben loved lots of women. i am conservative in many ways but do believe in science and that god gave us a brain and its up to you how you want to use it ...or not!! as for the Mass race its true what alphmale says about the repubs and the dems.  i'm not sure what color has to do with it but that always seems to be quite a sticking point for some.  i am looking forward to rn progressives campaign and anxiously await all the lies that the repubs will be telling during these midterm elections!!  let's hear it for the republic may it live long and prosper!!!

I am wondering if the thumpers on this forum are aware Senator Brown is..... GASP... PRO CHOICE.....As soon as I find out where he stands on gay marriage I will report back.

I'll hold my breath til the answer is saideth.

Marriage

He refers to the currently legalized same-sex marriage in Massachusetts as a settled issue, which he does not wish to change. Brown has said he believes marriage is between a man and a woman, but he would oppose a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. He is in favor of civil unions. He opposes ending the Defense of Marriage Act, but otherwise favors leaving the issue to the states to decide.

 Abortion

He has stated that Roe v. Wade is settled law. He is against partial-birth abortions, also known as intact dilation and extraction, and has spoken in favor of parental consent[14] for minors who seek an abortion.

Are you fundies SURE you wanted this guy elected? .. I am thinking , had you done some research on him, the jubilation on his election would have been a bit more subdued.

Can you say... " Due diligence"?? ......I knew you could..

MMmm sounds like somebody that I WOULD vote for.  I know that I'm among the 'bible thumpers' that you refer to.  But it may amaze and confuse you, I am a Democrat, I am pro choice, I am against the current administration who are NOT democrats but Socialists calling themselves 'progressive Liberals'.   I am against a Socialist Healthcare system, so actually it sounds like he and I would get along fine.

This is kind of like Mr. Brown...............arguing with himself?  I think he is more inline of what federal funds will pay for..........such as abortion.  Abortion is still a done deal.......dont worry, you can still get one, but from what I understand I dont have to help you with my tax money to fund it.  Now thats my understanding and everybody knows Im an ignorant hick, so no worries.

pater noster qui est in caelis,

Yea, I took Latin 35 years ago in High School;  My son, has an A+ in his second year of Latin in High School.  My daughter is in her first year of Latin.  You seem to enjoy Latin, did you actually take it, or do you just know a few phrases?

Alas, Alphamale is a lapsed Catholic.....and you took Latin as an Alter boy in your religious classes!  They actually offer it as part of the core Public High School classes here, in the Northeast.  My teenagers are actually quite profficient at it.
