Hi Everyone!

My name is Casandra, I am 20 years old and I am currently a new LPN.  I am having a really hard time trying to find an LPN job in New York (Long Island- Suffolk County).  I am starting to feel a little discouraged since I have not heard anything back from all the hospitals and nursing homes that I have applied to 2 weeks ago.  Can anyone provide me with some advice  and support?!

Much appreciated!

Hi Cassandra, I hope you have found a nursing job by now.  But if not, try volunteering until something becomes available. It shows that you are motivated and industrious.  After an interview, request a date that you can contact them again, then remember to follow-up.  If no date is given, connect back with them in 7-10 days.  Remember to send a thank-you letter immediately after each interview.  Network with your former classmates and nursing school, as well as your clinical site.  I hope this helps some.

I absoluely will.  Its been a month already that I have been working in this facility.  I cant believe how fast the time flew by.  But I am loving my LPN job a lot so far.  It is such a great feeling.
